Event description

By request, this workshop will explore the use of video on-line. You'll learn:

1) Tips to making a great video, including how to present yourself on camera, what to talk about, how to appear real and natural. NOTE: You'll actually get on-camera time to review "how you look."

(This part is a little more than just getting comfortable in front of the camera. In Part 1 we will not only videotape, but also discuss what people see, what you may not be aware of, and how to be more sensitive about yourself and the cues that people see. This is training from Theater adapted to video. Selected attendees will get a chance to role play and see the results immediately. The scenarios will actually come from you. And if you feel comfortable about the camera, see the note below)

2) Hints to editing and publishing different types of video:

  • Software available
  • Formats to consider
  • Styles of video

3) Help in creating and posting video to serve various on-line and marketing purposes, including:

  • How on-line video increases SEO
  • Local Search video
  • e-newsletter video
  • Video landing/splash pages
  • Posting video in blogs
  • Posting video in social media groups

This event came at the request of dozens of people who, even though they may have their SHINE video -- or weren't able to make SHINE -- still want to know how best to use video on an on-going basis.

NOTE: If you already feel comfortable in front of the camera, sign up but don't show up until about 3:45 or so. That's when will switch from "camera work" to "what do I DO with my video!".

Fantastic that you are offering this event. I frequently get asked by my students to post video for them to reference and I've been stuck not knowing how. Looking forward to meeting you both and learning some good new tools.

We will be putting this on again in November. Because we are dealing with Mosaic's Den (a very popular place for Biznik meetings) we move the date to fit openings that are available.

So David and I are looking to teach a series of classes that cover from the initial video and body awareness to shooting promotional video, editing and placement for best SEO responses.

From past classes, we know that there is much more to offer. If you are interested, we would like to know. And if you have not experienced the Event yet, sign up and see for your self what this can mean to you.

Sounds like an outstanding workshop. Looks like some other Bizniks think so, too. : )

    David Krafchick,

You post a reminder to cancel if not able to attend; and I get assigned to get witness statements at the prosecutor's office in Kent at 4. No time to do your program and get to Kent in time. The universe conspires to keep me from attending, again.

    David and David,

This class was definitely worth my time. Many of us want to use video in the marketing of our websites and instruction but for one found myself very stilted the first time out. You gave very good suggestions for "naturalizing the process" and realizing the steps needed to get the new video recognized to optimize identification by search engines. This definitely with be an asset for Briscoe Network Solutions.

    Thanks!

Much thanks for the workshop. I have worked a great deal on the writing and producint side of video content (though it never hurts to review) but the real revelation was the SEO portion. It was new information for me and much appreciated. I see my www.smallEPics.com website needs a tune up with the addition of some searchable videos.

Looking foreword to talking to you about it in the near future. Best

As one who works extensively in use and control of voice for Total Broadcasting Service's website audio production and radio commercials, I found the meeting's content on body language while appearing on video or in person to be very helpful. The Seattle location at Mosiacs Coffeehouse was particularly interesting too, since they opperate on donations. I want to learn more about them. Lastly SEO content provided me with insights into how we can grow our website audio and website video production and better serve our clients. Furthermore, I look forward to working with the two David's more closely. Michael Schuett Owner Total Broadcasting Service www.totalbroadcasting.com

Thank you for an informative and entertaining workshop on use of video for small business. For myself, I have been planning for some time to add video to my website, both for SEO reasons and so my clients can learn more about me. In my business, counseling and coaching, the "know, like, trust" component is even more important, and I believe video can help with people feeling like they know me.

Thanks to both the Davids for your unique pieces of the whole equation.

David and David: Thanks so much for such an enlightening presentation and for the opportunity to be on camera!

I went wanting to learn more about putting video tutorials on the web for my students and came away convinced I need a short video intro to my professional services on my website. It was also good to learn about a web presence without a website.

    Thanks, again.

    Davids:

thanks for having this video class. I've been wanting to put a video on my website as an introduction to myself and massage therapy for awhile now just didn't know where to start.

I enjoyed having the chance to be in front of the camera too, even though it was a bit scary!

Thank you for the fun and expansive workshop yesterday. Sorry I had to rush out to the airport and missed the end and an opportunity to talk to more of the participants. They were a fun group.

I found the SEO information really helpful and now understand that adding video to my website will have a profound effect on my web presence in more ways that I imagined. Lots of good information.

    Much gratitude to you both.

    David + David,

Thank you so much for a fantastic class! The class was packed with valuable info, and I would highly recommend it to others. It will certainly benefit my own Real Estate business. As a Realtor who markets Seattle and Eastside real estate, it is imperative that I use video, and this class has opened my eyes to some very simple things that I can be doing to enhance my business. Thank you!
