Event description
WordPress is a Personal Web Publishing phenomenon. There's nothing quite like it out there. It has power, ease of use, extensibility and longevity. You can do anything with WordPress... if you know how!!!
Welcome to the World of WordPress!
This workshop goes into the design and implementation of a WordPress website. It reveals how to utilize the hundreds of products and plugins that are freely available. It explains Widgets, Posts and Pages. It reveals how WordPress makes upgrading or finding a theme, a user's dream.
Websites developed in WordPress include:
- Content Management System
- Unlimited Expansion Capability
- Updatable and Maintainable by You
- Highly Search Engine Optimized
- Full Blogging Capability
Until recently, creating an online experience was left to the web development community and programmers who indulge in the world of HTML, DHTML, PHP, JSCRIPT, PERL, and other such web speak terms. But now with the new release of WordPress, the online world is a different place.
With a WordPress website and Blog, anyone can develop an amazing online experience without having to spend thousands of dollars on web consultants and developers. Now with a little education and support, even the computer novice can get online and get noticed.
With WordPress, you can scheme, select your theme and create an online dream.

Thx for offering again. Pros say WordPress is the only way to go, Blogger.com is for amateurs, but for me a good place to practice (free). Looking forward to content, and my first event. Jay P.S. Easy? I need easy!

Just a point of clarification, will we be discussing the services on Wordpress.org, Wordpress.com or both?

Looks like I missed out on this one, but I hope you do this again. I'm just getting started with a web site and blog and could use all the help and insight I can get!
If there is a cancellation, let me know.
Hope to meet you all soon. Heidi

Scott,
WordPress.com is mentioned but the focus is on the 'fully loaded' WordPress.org edition.
@Heidi, will do!

I just got back from this workshop and I'm so glad I went. This is my first exposure to Christine and WordPress. I'm very impressed with both. Thanks Christine for providing so much information in a very easily understandable format.

Thanks so much Christine!
As a total novice in web development, who just launched her first website, I found the material easy to follow and WordPress absolutely seems like the way to go.
Can't wait until I can get transitioned over.

Christine: Thank you. I thought this was well done and you definitely know your stuff. I'd like to see a seminar titled "how to build a website through Wordpress". It would be simple and people would walk away with the knowledge about how to start. Alot of the material yesterday lost us who are beginners. And I would bet that is most of your audience. Thanks again!

I have used Wordpress themes to create three of my web sites and although this class is great for beginners, I also learned more! Time well spent.
