Keeping accurate and adequate records is so important and so often neglected ... So an orientation to current record-keeping options would be good, especially if it was underscored with how online banking can/should be factored in.
Accounting/Bookkeeping Presentation Topics
Hi all,
I am considering offering a Biznik event and would appreciate your suggestions for topics for a 1 hour educational presentation.
What topics would be of interest to you? What confuses you about accounting? What keeps you up at night? If you have been in business for a while please think back to when you were a newbie. What confused you most? What still confuses you?
Some examples:
- Employee vs. Independent Contractor: How to protect against ugly IRS penalties
- How to Choose the Best Accounting Software for Your New Business
- Tax Tips for the Self-Employed etc.
Thanks so much for your help,
M-Jo Baker Baker Street Bookkeeping

More ideas:
Some of my challenges ar figuring out what I can write off especially if when it comes to home office utilities and mortgage expenses, what records to keep ("is it just the receipt or do I also need a letter for this one?"), when they can be thrown away, what to budget for taxes (for newbies) and how to find an open source based tax accountant.
Good luck making sense of that! Rebecca
