Subscribe to Indie Biz Q&A Any suggestions on the best way to market the re-launch of a website?

We recently retooled our website and want to know if anyone has any good marketing ideas on how to effective announce our new look. We have a large database but don't want emails to get lost as spam when sending a mass email.

I would like to hear ideas from people who are smarter than me on this. Virtual Staff, Inc provides virtual administrative support for all types of companies. You can visit us at www.avirtualstaff.com.

    Hi Tracy:

An e-mail blast might be the most cost effective but I certainly understand the SPAM issue. Without knowing your budget, you might consider the following: Visit top accounts (either sales or you personally) to say hello, announce new website and leave the contact with a small promo piece (i.e., mouse pad w/website address and graphics corresponding to the new website's look.) Send out a postcard-sized direct mail piece (cheaper than other sizes). Send out a promo piece to all accounts (i.e., the mousepad idea again). Distribute a press release to local newspapers and trade publications that are pertinent to your target audience. * Host a short, after work cocktail event at your facility to "launch" the site and position Virtual Staff as leader.

Just a few things... Hopefully these will help. Good luck. Kimberly Hegg
