You can rent rooms at Lakeland College. They are not free, but the cost is reasonable. Usually for a small classroom, it can be about $15 and hour. I have done many workshops there. For my brainstorming sessions we just divide the cost among the participants. It usuall comes out to $2 to $5 each, depending how many attend.

Best FREE places to do a Biznik event
I'm looking for a list of places, preferably on the Eastside, with small private space in which to schedule workshops. If such a lists exists, I'd love someone to point me to it. If you have a favorite place, would love to hear about it. Thanks, all. :)

Thanks Dave, I'll keep that in mind if I'm needing a place in that locale.

The Bellview libraries have been the nicest locations for free events I've been to on the eastside.
I also offer my conference rooms for free to Biznik host for free events. Please visit http://www.humerlis.com

I believe you can use the small (8 people) room at the Starbucks in the Barnes and Noble on 106th in Belleuve for free. Bellevue library is also good, however you can only use it once a month, unless you get others to sign up for it. They stay busy so book early. Free WiFi at the library.

Richard and Richard (sounds like a law firm-- LOL) thanks for the tip about the library. Many thanks for the offer of Humerlis space in Issaquah.
Starbucks in Juanita has a community room they say seats 15 (I think it's closer to 10), as does the one in Crossroads Mall I'm told (very hidden! and tiny, maybe good for 4- 6).
Third Place in Lake Forest Park has a room in the midst of the food court that can be scheduled for free events.
Others?? Restaurants with private rooms, even if you have to order a meal?

Almost any restaurant, cafe, or bar would be glad to have the business during the slow hours. Talk to the owner/manager, and tell then you want to bring in 10 people for a meeting. Find a slow time for the establishment, and then schedule your event.
Make it clear in your event description that the manager is making the place available to your group because everyone is going to buy something, and you should be set.

Thanks Christian. Some of my favorite and most convenient restaurants that I'd love to support don't have a private dining room, and I find trying to hold a workshop in the middle of a public space very distracting. Your idea tho will be great for general discussion groups.
This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
