Hey Dan - "business networking that doesn't suck" is a smasher too! (-;

Does that qualify as an elevator pitch? I've always thought of that as a tagline...

Yes, but your tagline can be your pitch, can't it? Plus you make it sooo attractive to anybody who's fed up with old, grumpy, stiff networking a la linkedin (he he)

I also like "indie" in your official pitch. Very USP-ish.

Looks to me like what makes Fastpitch unique is something they started doing in October! Nice work Rich. So, I'm dying to know, what DID you start doing in October???
(by the way, compete.com is a fantastic tool for comparing traffic on websites to see how they're doing relative to each other - and more accurate than Alexa)

Pierre, I like your pitch - after hearing it I know exactly what you do, and I think that's the point. Do you think it could be improved slightly by shortening the last line to simply "Deliver your message in 50 languages"?

Brian, Your pitch sounds great, except for the "close to half" bit, which sounds kind of vague to me for something that has a guarantee attached to it. I mean, how do you define "close?" Seems like something you'd need to put a real number on - like 40 percent, for example. I'd be more interested if you said "We cut your bills by 40 percent - guaranteed," because now I have a real number to work with.

Ho ho ho this feels like Xmas :-D
Fantastic pitches & suggestions here.
Way to go Bizniks!
Dan Thanks - I'm still trying to figure out what the ultimate pitch for Virtual Words would be, with the help of EU, UK, AUS and US reviewers. Any feedback most welcome!

I describe Biznik a tad differently:
Biznik is an online social network facilitating face to face networking and educational events for indie business people.
Mine for Studio LEAF:

There are 1,000's of Actors who can't get a job without experience...which they can't get without the job. So ours would be...
"Film Production Company that gives talented, new Actors their break."
...If anyone can think of a spicier way to say that, I'd welcome suggestions :)

Documentary style black and white portraiture for babies and children....
And Laura, what does LEAF stand for? does that relate to the documentary aspect, the child aspect....?
-
Posted by Lara Feltin, Seattle, Washington | Apr 30, 2007
The "LEAF" was actually branded as "LEaF" and stands for Lara Eve Feltin - my initials.
-
Posted by Lara Feltin, Seattle, Washington | Apr 30, 2007
O, and I should have added...
The reason I went for "Studio LEaF" rather than "Lara Eve Feltin Photography" is because my first name is often misspelled as "Laura" and my last name is often misspelled as "Felton" and I was afraid if someone tried to find me phonetically, they'd not be able to.

Ross, that's brilliant! What a conversation starter. Hmmm let's see, if I were to go along those lines....
"Today I helped a guy change his life by showing him how to change his mind"
More than 10 words, but don't you think they'll be dying to know more?
"I'm a hypnotherapist, see, and this guy had BIIG problems..."
Am I on the right track?
