Subscribe to Indie Biz Q&A Looking for corporate gifts

Hi- I am looking for some fabulous custom corporate gifts for one of my clients. This is for an event they are having where they want to give each person some sort of memento - but nothing cheesy. This is a very high level event and we are out of cool ideas- we have done fancy pens/laser pointers, clothes, trips etc. We are thinking some sort of custom sandblasted glass object (as they are celebrating hitting $1 Billion in AUM and they are pretty happy about it) but we dont like any we have seen as they are all pretty tacky... Anyone out there do fabulous custom pieces like this?

    Sarah

Warning a little Self Promotion :)

Have you tried travel gifts? 3-day trip to locations around the country and it only cost about $20 each. They are better than a pen since no one really needs another pen and you know that the location will be a cool place that does not suck.

Check out the link to my website to learn more.

One final thought, my husband uses the gifts in his massage therapy business to thank some of the more "generous" clients for their patronage and you know, he keeps getting good new clients from these people

    Hi Everyone-

thanks for all the posts! I have been out of the country and didnt realize people were still posting on this topic. To let you what we decided way back when- we went with custom glass vessels from Kusak Glass- they were great and went over well. Since then we have done a couple more events with this client and done custom fleece blankets (company BBQ) and also Vegas trips- oh and the employee favorite- cold hard cash bonuses company wide. Trips are hard because of kids, spouse schedules etc but thank you all for your suggestions! SKB

Denise Marinacci's Urbana boxes are great. If you're looking for another "swag" (promotional products) resource, Biznik hired Biznik member, Leslie Lippi and her company B-Bam, for our swag. Check out the Biznik Shop.

Leslie sorted through literally millions of options and helped us find soft organic tshirts, eco-friendly thumbdrives, and these unique embossed aluminum notebooks that I have never seen anywhere else. Give her a shout!

I do quite a lot of custom orders for handmade soaps. You name it: I customize shapes, packaging, and fragrances. My nautical and equestrian soaps are on my website, and various custom projects can be seen on the blog.

I saw this post right after I wrote an article in my blog about the rules regarding tax deductions for corporate gifts and the records to keep depending on size. Take a look if you would like Los Angeles Accountants Blog.

@Shaun, just visited your blog. You've got some great tips in there! I learned something new about travel expenses. Can I encourage you to publish an article on Biznik? I think a lot of members would benefit.

    Sarah,

There's a fellow in Biznik that makes custom glass urns. Their real purpose is as a final resting place for man's best friend. I'm sure they would look fine completely empty as well. Putting one of those on the mantel would keep Fido in line.

Here's Mike Holberg's profile, the member who makes custom urns.

FYI... This discussion (with Sarah's original post) was started 2 years ago in 2007, so it's possible that Sarah's got her needs met by now.
