Subscribe to Indie Biz Q&A Meeting and Event Locations - Seattle

I am looking for suggestions of place to host networking events as well as business meetings. I work from home and would love to have a more formal meeting space than my local Starbucks.

I look forward to everyone's feedback.

Julie, You can rent a conference room at many office services locations around the city. The closest to you is Premier Business Services (I think that's the name) in Bothell. There is also one at Carillon Point (I think that is Regus). There are too many to list in Bellevue and Seattle. There are also a few in Redmond. I use these as branch offices so all my clients don't have to come to Kenmore. I don't know of any north of Bothell. There is Meridian Executive Center for Northgate. I believe Office Nomads may be a Biznik member.

Thanks John, this is great. Do you know of anything in Seattle? I had never heard of Meridian before.

Hey Julie, as John mentioned, Office Nomads is a Biznik member, and in Seattle on Capitol Hill. Here is a link to co-founder Jacob Sayles profile. From everything I have heard, and the few times I have been there, it's a fantastic place. Could be just what you are looking for!

I use Executive Support Center in South Seattle/Tukwila, and University Business Center in the U District. If you mean downtown Seattle, there are about a dozen. Regus has 4 of them including Columbia Tower, 800 5th Avenue and Two Union.

That is great. Can you recommend any great locations for networking events or workshops? You really seem to know your stuff.

Hey, Julie -- You might want to check out The Village in Bellevue. It's easy to get to, has free parking, and all the amenities. They have a variety of membership options, and membership also gets you use of other locations they are currently acquiring around the Seattle area.

If you need a place to hold a workshop or other small event (12 - 20 people) in the evening, we are about to convert some of our office space by Mill Creek for that purpose. I can let you know when that's an option.

I'd be pleased to hold any networking events at my restaurant. I've hosted Biznik here in the past.

We can manage only about 30 people seated or 45 if folks are walking around. Drop me a note and we can discuss specific needs of your group or event.

For everything from a small Biznik event to a full wedding reception, try this: The owners of Center House Bistro are clients of mine and wonderful people to work with. Their restaurant is located in Seattle Center just steps from the Space Needle, and there's usually street parking available around Seattle Center or paid parking conveniently adjacent. Their menu is GREAT and realistically priced, (unlike Sky City at the top of the Space Needle, the only other restaurant at Seattle Center that isn't fast food). it's a prestigous location with great atmosphere but without the overheated pricing. I have a wonerful suggestion for you if you do business on the Eastside in Bellevue. I'm Co-Founder of a new eco-friendly event center called the Zenai Center. Julie-

I've use the Northgate Community Center several times. It was very nice, professional, convenient, and affordable.

    Hope that helps.

I went to a QuickBooks class hosted by Biznik member Shandra Rose a while back.

She hosted it at a place in Fremont called the Mosaic coffee house (mosaiccoffeehouse.org) It is a non profit co-op coffee house meeting place.

They have a private spacious conference room that is perfect for hosting events. They only accept donations. Reservation details on their website.

I remember thinking to myself, next time I host an event I will look into this place.

    Eric

Oops... after typing all this I just realized that Amy above had already mentioned Mosaic. I hope i was able to add to the conversation.

I'm digging this topic back up again because I had a wonderful conversation with the owner and manager of the Tiger Lounge, which is down in the SoDo/Georgetown area.

They have an amazing place, several different indoor and outdoor areas to meet, good cheap food, a variety of drinks, and even a private "theater" meeting room downstairs. There is AMPLE parking, too!

They are excited about Biznik and want the Biznik community to know that they welcome all kinds of Biznik events to their venue. Give Chloe (the manager) a call, and let her know you want to host a Biznik event there. She will get you started.

Any ideas in the SeaTac airport area? I'm looking for a meeting/classroom for one day use in May '10 for 10 people and a very low price of $50? Not in a restaurant if possible, as this will be used for a professional testing situation.

    Thanks in advance!

    Julie,

You might try Ristorante Picolino's, in Ballard. They have a great food and wine selection, and have separate areas you can rent out as well.

They are one of our restaurant insurance clients, and we held our company Christmas party there.

You can check them out at www.ristorantepicolinos.com

I double checked the facilities available at SeaTac, and the airport actually looks like a great spot for what is needed.

Love seeing the eco-friendly venues and green resources promoted here!

We are always searching to promote these types of venues on http://www.GreenYourTheme.com

You can also find great tips on greening your meetings and workshops as well.

Great suggestion, Jessie - I work hard to reduce waste at my offices. Nice to see other businesses doing the same.
