Subscribe to Indie Biz Q&A What are the most effective websites?

I'm sure you have seen a lot of different models - brochures, blogs, videos with list signups, sales letters..

I'm just wondering out of this vibrant community what are some of the better performing websites when it comes to getting leads?

Hey Ross, helping businesses figure this out is what I do for a living. :)

The answer is - it depends on what you're trying to sell and how you're trying to sell it. If you want to connect with people one-on-one and show of your insight and up-to-date knowledge blogs are great. Videos can be a useful tool for conveying information that is hard to explain in a static format.

If you tell us a bit more about your business I can give you some suggestions. There is no fool-proof answer that works for everyone.

Obviously it depends on the product, but I'd just love to see some sites that are performing well - regardless of what they are selling.

Biznik is great, and so are LinkedIn and Facebook. Salesconx (the site I work for) is also a great place to network and find quality leads. Check out my profile for the link. Ecademy is good for international leads, too!

DRD your site didn't work. I believe one key to many for a successful site is good organic search engine optimization. Rich keywords, linking within and without of the site, and adding your company site to directories and search engines. Whether it is a blog or a web site, this is very important to the sites success. I wrote an article you can read at http://www.branicwebdesigns.com/search-engine-positioning.htm

    If you are interested. Dawn
