Subscribe to About Biznik Fun web site by local writer

I wish I would have thought of this for my web site. I am still in the 'creating content' phase. This web site is fun, was fairly easy to make, clearly creative and gets the information across.
This is just an FYI for those looking for fresh ideas.

She was mentioned on Warren Ellis' blog. Another person that I would like to emulate.

Very nice. It's rare to see someone who is so gifted at engaging a reader by doing things, via writing, that are so unexpected. Speaking for myself, I really hate reading and writing. It's a necessary evil, I know, but I never really liked it. I never would have read through what she wrote had she not provided the text in a way that seemed to invite me to know her personal character/style in a way that plain old text couldn't do. Pretty cool stuff.

I just think it is fun that she clearly created this in one day (or at least it seems so).

I read her bio and discovered that she is not a local gal, at least, not anymore.

When her film was debuted as the opening film in SIFF in Seattle, she was touted as a local girl. Her co-star was someone who became a major character in "Deadwood".

She is just such a curious soul.

Oh my gosh, that is absolutely hysterical..... "I just very nervous all of a sudden." Genius marketing that really makes me want to buy the book in hopes that the stories are as clever and funny as that website. What a riot!

I sure hope that the new Biznik website has an edit feature on posts. Every single time I post I notice a typo AFTER I hit "submit"...doh! (i.e. my post above)

Anyway, I just noticed that the book author wrote the movie "Me and You and Everyone We Know". I thought that was one of the strangest movies I have ever seen. Even more strange than "Being John Malkovich"-strange. :) Anyway, the book website is clever enough to make me want to still read her short stories.

To reply to your question, Nancy - yep, the new site allows users to edit a BizTalk post within 15 minutes or until the first comment is made. If someone comments within a minute of your post, you're out of luck.

it's funny how we go from the websites that were built like powerpoint slides way back when...and then we learned how to trick them all out, creating a diverse amount of links, options, doors, bells and whistles.

now the pendulum is swinging back. just as I've done to my own website, create simple and to-the-point. instead of hoping the visitor gets to that "one" page, I just hold their hand all the way there.

    7 pages now.

    was 42.

    I feel like I'm breathing easier ;)

Warren Ellis is a genius. Miranda July is a genius. Biznik is just overrun with geniuses. I feel smart just by association. :->
