Hi all- I'm curious to know if anyone here wants to host a Biznik networking event here in DC in late July or August?

I actually run an entrepreneurs meetup but we're so busy that it's hard to get something going especially during the summer. So I thought 2 heads or 2 organizations are better than 1 at this point and wanted to see if we have any takers.

Basic premise is a simple happy hour format.

I actually do have office space for up to 50 people in a room that we can reserve but we usually do that for speaker type events.

Just wanted to toss this out to see if we can get Biznik presence here in DC.

Dean

    Hi Dean,

I hosted an event in Arlington at Whitlow's on Wilson last month. I connected with a DC Entrepreneur meetup to promote it. I may have had better luck if I'd had an existing network, but I was visiting from Seattle.

Hi Brian- Yeah, I recall something about that. My friend, Rick, the head organizer, called me up afterwards. He said that while the event itself was small (understandable given your distance) that it was very productive. A bunch of talk about social media and other stuff at the event too.

Hopefully, we'll find a Brian Couch locally :)

Dean, I too would like to see progress in DC. I'm not an Uber-Networker, but am fascinated by the Biznik model.

Tell me what you had in mind & I can likely put together something in Bethesda, DC or McLean.

    Interested, Frank

Hey Frank- My co-organizer/partner is putting something together in late July. I'd be happy to include you if you wish to help. It's hard for most professionals to want to take up such a heavy role so even just lending a hand is good enough for us for now.

Once he gets his event up, I hope to be hosting a networking on the greens event where we'll host a small get-together at the driving range soon. I just hosted a golf clinic and took my first lessons and absolutely fell in love with golf :)

I'm a member of an active DC area forum called ARTDC.org and you would most likely be able to stir up some interest for a Biznik networking event if you posted there. :)
