Are you on LinkedIn? Or FaceBook? Or other similar sites? What do you think of them? What is your experience. There seem to be so many out there that it feels a little overwhelming.

I have used LinkedIn for quite some time and my experience has been that it is great for networking and connecting for business to business purposes. Since I have left my B2B sales role and am now in more of a Business to Consumer role, Biznik seem more appropriate for me for some reason because of the multiple face to face opportunities that don't seem to be there with LinkedIn. Facebook, I have not been able to find a good way to leverage that without coming across as pushy in my business role, since most there are not there for that purpose, so I leave that to more of a personal experience and don't try to conduct business there.

I found my profession is tied into LinkedIn to a good extent. I was recently on the phone with a recruiter who mentioned he liked what he saw on the linked in website. It was like offering a 2nd view to just a resume.

LinkedIn is certainly one of the sites you should be part of along with Biznik. Linked in is known as being a recruiting site, but it is more than that. The groups are more serious than those found on Biznik. On many of those you should only comment if you know what you're talking about or risk the threat of global ridicule. I wish LinkedIn was as intuitive as Biznik. Trying to find LinkedIn events is like searching for the Holy Grail.
