check out the Mother's Day theme I just added to TissueDepot.com =)

Do you celebrate mom on Mother's Day?
Our Mom's brought us into the world. We owe so much to them. I read somewhere that if you actually paid an annual salary for all the different jobs a mom performs on a regular basis, mom's should make a six figure income.
so do you think mom's deserve to have their own day of recognition, and if so how do you like to let her know how you feel?
Having delivered flowers to so many mom's over the years i have seen first hand the joy they feel when they get a special gift delivered to them. the irony is my own mom is allergic to so many things so flowers are out for her(think i'll send her some chocolate this year instead). Good news as a florist in Seattle i get to live vicariously through all the mom's i deliver to.
We are rolling up our sleeves and getting ready for this holiday. This is what we live for: helping others celebrate life!

Yes, moms definitely deserve their special day. I don't have kids so I don't know the sacrifice it requires but I can only imagine how many sleepless nights my mom had to endure to raise me. I doubt that sleepless nights really end after you turn two. I know my mom still loses sleep when she worries about me.
As an art therapist I sometimes have clients who have lost their moms. Mother's Day can be a painful time for some.
Well, I send my mom jewelry. She wants multi-colored pearls this time (getting ready for summer I guess). But I have sent her flowers (before I knew you) and she loves them! Maybe for her birthday I can send her a special arrangement by Heather. :)
It must be an amazing experience to get to see people's joy when they receive their flowers Justin. I hope you'll get so many orders this year and lucky you for having the opportunity to see them smile. :)

My mom (justin's mother-in-law) loves goodies. A box full of things (knick knacks, pictures, items from her grandson) are always on top of her list. But, because I'm in the floral industry and am always preparing for ALL moms in our area, i love to send her flowers. Last year we sent her a huge basket filled with flowers and plants. She raved about it for an entire year! So, now we have to come up with something really fantastic! Because she's diabetic, I'm thinking, flowers, plants and some great sugarfree chocolates made by Sarina at Chocolate Affairs.
That will just tickle her. And of course, a sentimental card...I always cry when I write it, because mom means so much to me! She gave me life and loves me unconditionally. As far as a gift from my own child (he's 13), I love when he helps me out here at BiZi Bee or cleans the house PLUS a really great card..what more can a mom in the floral industry ask for!

I wonder what Justin is going to get you, the mother of his son?
Don't mess up Justin! ;]

hahaha! good one Andrey! for starters, i want to give Heather a profitable business.:) after mother's day we are downsizing from a retail location into a floral design studio. with most of our biz coming form internet, phone, and referrals we don't need the overhead of retail. we are excited!

What a heartfelt post, Justin. It must be great seeing all those happy moms when they receive their flowers.
My mom (this will be my first Mother's Day without her) just loved being with her kids on that day and because she was so darned non-materialistic, it was hard to know what to get for her. At some point, I just stopped worrying about what the gift would be.
Sounds like you are going through some changes with your business. I think that the Internet has really changed the way florists provide their services. It's just so easy to go online. Best of luck...not having that retail space rent to cover will probably help!

Being a Brit over here, visits from relatives tend to be extended, 1 month is the norm. This is long enough to get fed-up of anyone, including Moms.
Actually, especially Moms.
Don't do it. Move away when they turn up, or commit a crime that has a 3 week prison term.
This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
