Subscribe to Coffee Break Help me find the sofa of my dreams

Hi, all. I have been trying to find a great sofa/couch and figured, what the heck why not post it on BikTalk. Maybe someone is selling the sofa of my dreams. I've been perusing Craig's List and seem always to just miss the sale of what I want. Argh! So, I've narrowed it down and here's what I'm looking for. Please let me know if any of you are ever sell anything along these lines or know of someone who is.... Size: Three seater sofa/couch (not a two-person love seat) Color: Purple/eggplant/plum (apparently this color was very popular a few yrs ago according to the sales woman at Macy's but is now a special order taking 3 months to special order any of their sofas in this color)
Fabric: Something comfy...velvet-like, microfiber, brushed cotton, etc....nothing tweed-like or nubby Style: solid color/no patterns, contemporary lines Other: Definitely from a non-smoking home and preferably a pet-free home If you ever stumble across the sale of something along these lines, pls ping me. Thanks!!
Nancy

Nancy you're awesome! I love that you take advantage of everything that BizNik has to offer. Since I'm going to move my green couches to the new location, I've been looking for new couches too. Ask Jennifer Morrison if she knows of any good places. She's seems to know a lot about ordering furniture.

In my complex I work with a few furniture companies. One company typically has overstocks, floor samples from trade shows, etc.. So, once in a while he gets a fantastic load of pieces from high-end manufacturers. They tend to sell quick, as the interior designers and independent retailers know the values. ...So, I can keep my eyes open for you...

We also have a contract upholsterer in the building - They do pieces for some of the high-end companies. They can make sofas according to your needs - And, it certainly won't take 3 months (maybe 3 or 4 weeks).

The problem is the shipping would cost about $300/sofa from NC to Seattle( by a home delivery service) - And, that may take 2 weeks...But, you would certainly have some incredible sofas...

Let me know, and I can send some pictures...

Hi Sterling and Neil, Thanks for the suggestions. I actually found a really nice sofa on Craig's List for the same price that I sold mine for. It's not "the sofa of my dreams" but is a beautiful sofa from Macy's in excellent condition and it matches my current living room colors (guess the wild plum colored sofa will have to wait for another livingroom "remodel"). Fellow Biznik Justin Kleibacker of Heaven's Best Carpet and Upholstery Cleaning will be cleaning it, so I'm thrilled to have found such a bargain.

All you need now is throw pillows to bring in the colors you really want. In working with designers I've found that the good ones do mostly neutral large pieces and use accent pieces for the color. Then they can update easily. Contact me if I can help you.

This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
