Thank Our Troops This Thanksgiving

I realize that many of us may not agree with the way our military is utilized by our leaders. However, i think we can all agree that the men and women who are serving deserve our highest respect.

I am all too familiar with the sacrifices they are making and the reasons for which they make them. I served aboard the USS Camden AOE-2 and remember having only my shipmates to spend holidays with. What really moved me to write about this today was the news article about the couple who are serving in Iraq and having to leave their kids with grandma until next Dec. when they return. I feel lucky compared to them as i was a young, single guy when i was in, but i remember the wrenching homesickness all the same.
