Thanksgiving is the holiday in which my family and relatives especially thank and give praise to the Lord for EVERYTHING.

I have many things to be thankful for... God's salvation, my wonderful wife, good health, good job, parents, friends, etc...

Usually we spend Thanksgiving with family. Last year my family and other relatives flew out to Kentucky to spend the holiday with our parents.

I'm hoping that my dad's side of the family [his parents & siblings] who live in Portland, gather together for this Thanksgiving. I would like to spend Thanksgiving there this year and see my old grandparents who've been sick.

I never send flowers for Thanksgiving, ;]

It would not be Thanksgiving without NFL Football, specifically, the Dallas Cowboy football game. The pre-game show playing in the background is as important to the success of the stuffing as the dried cranberries.

Our house has always been host to "orphan" guests and this year we will be no exception. I have a great life with a great family and lots of love. We cook up a huge feast, watch football and laugh ourselves silly.

Our special guests this year will be providing the floral arrangements. Otherwise I usually forage in the woods for something that looks pilgrim-like.

Our daughters are adults ...and one has children of her own...so that makes us nana and papa (the G word is not allowed in our house)...

and since we all live in the area we host Thanksgiving.

I will be shutting down this year on Wed. Nov 21 and reopening on Monday Nov 26th.

I used to never take time off during the holidays and a couple of years ago I finally made a decision that I needed 'me time'...... I love to bake during the holidays and it had been years since I was able to do that....so now I take time off.....

    to relax, recoup and energize

oh yeah..... and dabble a bit in jewelry making!

Thanksgiving means family time to me. I'll be driving to Montana to visit my mom and little brother (and possibly hit the opening of ski season if it's been snowing already).

I'm trying something new this year, not stressing out. Typically thanksgiving means 1/2 dozen friends and a dozen family members over with my wife & I cooking for two days straight.

This year we're having whole foods cater it, and only for 4 or 5 of us. It will be glorious! My new way of celebrating holidays is either not to celebrate them at all, or find the lowest stress methods of celebration possible..
