Subscribe to Coffee Break This Week In Review

Friday: Start working on several projects, all with a proposed finish date of 9/15. Seem to get everything under control for each of them.

Saturday: Internet is being funky, but nothing too bad. Just long loads and page errors. Run out of ADD medication and realize I've lost the prescription during the last couple of weeks when my new roommate moved in.

Sunday: Daughter's dad (baby daddy?) has an unexpected business trip. Expected week long break is cut short, and a grumpy two year old is dropped at door step. Spend the day readjusting her to being home.

Monday: Internet quits completely. Spend several hours on the phone with Qwest. No resolution. Scream something about needing the internet to make rent. Qwest rep explains how he is made of stone and therefore cannot pull any strings to get help faster. Paypal account that I've been using to get client payment suspends my account. Spend several more hours explaining to them that I am not committing any sort of fraud. Paypal rep also made of stone. Two year old has complete meltdown. Withdrawal from ADD medication sets in. Arms feel 50lbs a piece.

Tuesday: More "tech support" from Qwest. No resolution. Try to go interview a daycare for the two year old. Daycare is cold and unfriendly, no go. Ex boyfriend comes over to "help". Is no help whatsoever. Now legs feel 100lbs a piece. I consider a complete meltdown.

Wednesday: Finally FINALLY Qwest understands that this is not my fault. I pick up a new modem. Consider throwing the broken one through a window. A closed window. Think the breaking glass might be therapeutic. Two year old refusing to eat and running a slight fever. Spend the day feeding her pedialyte popsicles and trying to make the new modem play nice with my computer. Finally connect at 5pm, look at e-mail. 203 new messages. Whole body now sinking into earth from lack of medication. Call doctor again and leave slightly bizarre voicemail about losing mind and use of miscellaneous body parts. Expect men in white coats to show any moment now.

Tell me about your week.

    bbbbbbblllllllllllllluuuuuuuuuuurrrrrrrrrrrrrr...

cannot tell you what day what happened..

but these are the significant events...

installed new toilet after utter failure at getting arcane plumbing to cooperate with used merchandise that was only slightly less arcane..

replaced 2 motor mounts and a transmission mount in my 75 ford f150.(no i wont move your furniture people!)lol

discovered local repair shop utterly blew the brake job i hired them to do on my delivery van. consequentially i had to pay for a new master cylinder and pay them to replace my front calipers.. didnt know they were at fault until they tried to string me along for replacing the master cylinder and i was like oh hell no! i brought the thing in for a stuck cable and you guys are just dickin me down with no lube! actually turns out they inadverdently(have to think of it as inadverdent or else it would be like attempted manslaughter..i drove blocks and blocks with very poor brake function because of them) put some kind of grease or oil in my brake fluid reservoir.. still have gotten around to getting in their face about it because the whole thing makes me sick.

got to make friends with a city inspector who was getting complaints that we were living at our shop... which hasn't been the case for some time(much easier to find a business to by than a place to live that is dog friendly in this town)..only thing i can figure is the reports are coming from the condos behind me who are populated with a bunch of 9-5ers..who have no idea what owning a business is like..fortunately i think we will be considered to be in compliance and it will all blow over.

got my kid back in school. attended some kind of potluck that was pretty well picked over by the time i got there but somehow managed to score chocolate ice cream cake..score!

survived putting together and setting up a whole lot of high end bouquets for a wedding we put together for the owner of a local restaurant..really need the photos back so we can put that in marketing..but getting brides to follow through on getting us pictures has been like pulling teeth!

basically my week consisted of talking care of my quadraplegic patient, running back and forth to Schucks and Lowes, many deliveries, punctuated by numerous headaches..

ok so there was a bright spot..actually several..all of you! made lots of new friends around here, and attended a great event hosted by the illustrious sales traines Jimmy "shoes" Johnson. thank you all for being..and i am so glad that i know ya. Looking forward to great things together and really excited about 8 ball radio.. omg.. they are having a live show tomorrow and like i am supposed to meet people..once again i have overbooked..Shae wanna bounce over there with me somewhere in the middle of the event i booked at your house? oh well we'll work it out somehow.

    ciao, justin

Boy I really wish I could recommend Comcast as an alternate, but I cant.

Sadly for us in Seattle it really is a Rock and a Hard Place with broadband choices.

Wow! A perfect example of "everyone has their own share of problems!"

Maybe it was "one of those weeks." I hope things getter better!
