It sounds like the real estate people are not taking you seriously. You have unique needs and requirements. What I would suggest? There are more than a few real estate members here at Biznik. Maybe one of them can locate the space you need for your business. If they cannot help you, I will be glad to make a few call and see where I can find the broker or the space you need.
Aerialist seeking new studio space
I can't seem to find a better place to post this so apologies if this is inappropriate for this forum....
I'm an aerialist (i.e., trapeze artist) and instructor and am looking to move my business into a dedicated space if I can find one. The problem is...I need at least 20' ceilings with structural beams so that I can hang equipment from them. My dream space would be at least 1000 sq ft, well lit, well heated/ventilated, somewhere in the C.D./Cap Hill/Madrona area but I would settle for almost anything with good parking and access to bus lines. $2000/month would be doable.
I've talked to commercial real estate folks but most of them laugh at me when I start talking about ceiling height. I've got one possible space in Greenwood with 30' ceilings (!!) but it may not prove to be structurally sound enough to rig to. I would greatly appreciate any pointers to possible spaces or to realtors who might be able to help me find what I need.
Thanks! bev

Yes, my hope was that some of the real estate professionals would respond to my post! I would certainly be grateful for anything you can dig up if you are so inclined.

You and I are experiencing the opposite problem. I need a new dance studio in the next 90 days (current one is scheduled to be torn down). But every place I look at has 15 feet or higher ceilings. I need 10 feet or lower.

I will definitely let you know if I come across something that might work for you! How many square feet do you want?

I'm entertaining a couple options, the most workable being a two-studio space. Both studios at one location should be at least 500 to 700 square feet. But since I'm on a time crunch, I would also settle for just one studio of at least 700 square feet. Once I get that studio, I can always shop for a second one later. Thanks!!
Also because of the time crunch, I have offered everyone on my mailing list a $100 reward. And this applies to anyone. If you refer me to a space and I end up leasing it, I'll gladly give you a check for $100. :)
