It still isn't pretty out there, but I was pleasantly surprised when I met first with a director of a Small Business Development Center Monday and with the partners of a commercial finance company today. The SBDC director is an expert on alternative sources of financing and the finance company is able to get financing for a new restaurant and building deal.
Oh yeah there's money out there you just have to look harder to find it. Art T.
Hello Adam,
Did the SBDC Director that you spoke review a business plan for the new restaurant that is seeking financing?
I am interested to learn what qualifications are being sought by lenders for businesses that are currently at a stage of seeking assistance from SBDC's.
I specialize in new business consultation, including writing business plans tailored to address the needs of debt providers. If your client has any questions, I'd be glad to speak with them.
Thanks,
Neil
That is refreshing. How much collateral did you have to put up. What was the cost or interest rate of the loan. You got financing for a brand new business? Appreciate more details? Thanks, Shaun Lawrence, Los Angeles CPA
The restaurant/building deal as I recall was 65 -70% financed. I don't know the other terms. Regarding the SBDC some centers are a little different than others and will have preferred banks they work with. Most of their work is with SBA programs. Neil I would encourage you to contact one or more SBDC in your area.
There is a SBDC here in Seattle. His name is Michael Franz. We have worked with him for Brake Director LLC and his assistance is very uique. I have no hesitation recommending him. He is located in the 520 Pike building with Washington State University.
