Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Celebrating getting published!

Hey folks, I'm just super excited- I've been accepted as a blogger in the business section of The Huffington Post. It's a big deal- whether or not you agree with the politics (it's a very progressive-leaning publication) it gets a LOT of views. The connection happened by magic, and I'm excited, as I said, but also feeling vulnerable. It's a big stage to be on, even if it's just a small section of it.

Here's the post: How Productivity Contributes to Global Warming and Debt.

My request, fellow Biznikians, is if you're willing- please go to the article, read it, and comment on it.

And, if you like what you read, click "I'm a fan." I'd love to pick up followers and popularity there, so I can stay. :-)

Thanks for celebrating with me. It's very wild.

Mark, this is great news! First Betsy Talbot becomes a regular blogger at examiner.com and now you with a blogging gig at the Huffington Post.

I did read your article and went to post but my registration didn't work (kept saying "wrong screen name").

Anyway, a terrific piece. Your message really connected with me!

Wonderful news! I didn't see "I am fan". So I buzzed you up. And, I didn't see anyting on Global Warming or Debts. Did I miss something?

Elizabeth- Thanks! It's great to have the support!

Judy- thanks... and that sucks that it didn't work. They make you register to comment, don't they? Bad design.. ah well...

Suzanne- I hope you got to see her! I'm down here in Portland, so I missed the chance, but I hear she's a good speaker. Yes?

    Arthur- thanks, it is fun!

Hsuan-Hua- did you look again and find it? the link I put in above should've taken you right to it... and thanks for putting the effort in- much appreciated!

Andrey- I'll try not to forget all the little people who put me here. ;-)

And Helen- thank you, and thanks for buzzing it up!

I am so appreciative of all the support here. I was feeling tender and vulnerable all day, to have that kind of visibility.

    Ahhh...

Congrats from me as well. They don't sign up every Tom, Dick and Harriet. I have a political colleague who occasionally writes for Huffington. His name is Ari Melber. We worked together in 2004 and I kept in touch, send him a few political morsels that turned into articles.

BTW I am hosting an Event not connected with Biznik, showing the film, "UNCOUNTED – The New Math of American Elections." I saw this at a Warren Report Event and bought the DVD to show my Political Group. It’s an eye opener, crossing and affecting both parties. If you are interested, it’s happening on June 22nd at 10 am at the Uptown Espresso in the enclosed Back Room.

Anyone who wants to come needs to let me know.

Mark - Congratulations! What a neat accomplishment! I'll bet there's a little (big) thrill in seeing your name on a popular blog like that! I'll be watching your ascent to fame with great interest. :)

    Hey Mark

Great job. I had never even heard of the Huffington Post so you have enlightened me there too. I liked your article and it is soooo true for me. Sometimes I wish I was able to sleep less hours. I attempted to put a comment in but it wouldn't work. I'll try again later ( if I can squeeze it in!)

Hi Mark, Strange, when I tried to register I never received the confirmation email. So in the meantime, I twittered a video review here: http://tinyurl.com/68vatk

I experienced some problems when I tried to register, too. (Relieved it wasn't just my low level of tech skills!)

Maybe Mark can let them know.

Again, great job, Mark. I absolutely loved your post and had my comments ready, but couldn't post them.

I just sent off an email to my editor to let her know that many people have tried to register and comment, but no luck. Thanks for trying! We'll see what happens.

Valerie- thanks- it is quite a thrill! Fun, eh?

Kaya- Hey, I'm glad you found out about the HuffPost (as the insiders evidently call it...) this way- they've got some great content.

    Yeah! Carol! Thanks!

Leif- I love how much you're using video these days, and the video review was very cool. Thanks!

Judy- no, you are far from the only one. I'm bummed that your comments couldn't be seen... frustrating, eh? For you, and for me. And for the huffpost, too- if they only knew!

    Which they should, now.

You all rock- thanks for being such a great support.

Hey Mark, you need to use the sharing tools they have on the site --like Digg and Stumble Upon. But fear not, you can add to my Digg of it here and Stumble here.

    Talk to you soon, -Leif

I need to know how to use those, Leif. Thanks for helping with that.

    Thanks Karen!

And everyone else- I checked with my editor, and she let me know that it takes 24 hours before you are allowed to comment. I have no idea what the waiting period is about, unless too many people had smoking guns...

I'm hoping that you'll go back, once you have your passwords (assuming they show up) and post.

And if you don't, I'll understand. That's quite a cumbersome system they've set up.

I won't publish all of them here like this- but it's just fun!
