I belong to the San Diego community. There has been 38 members in the community since I started a couple of months ago and no one new has joined. Half of the community (about 16) havent updated their profiles (I'm not even sure if these people actually exist). Does BIZNIK have a policy for weeding out inactive accounts?

Thanks,

-Rich

Hi Rich, Everyone's real, but that doesn't mean they are active. Many people join just to check it out, or because of the search engine optimization that you get by having a profile. Our biggest community by far, and the most active, is Seattle (because Biznik started here). But the platform is totally localizable, so it'll be people like yourself who will jump in and use Biznik as a platform to build a business network of your own in your area.

Regarding inactive accounts, we have a participation algorithm that shows the most active members at the top, and the least active simply drift to the bottom. That doesn't work as well in communities where there are so few members, but it works great as you add more. So invite your friends and use Biznik to the hilt!

Rich, We need to some how reach a critical mass of members in SD so that when people do log on they will see enough benefit to join and return regularly.

By the way, I buy rental properties and work with buyers who do. I can use your service from time to time. Hang in there brian

I was always a fan of making people make some sort of commitment to be a member (even if it as simple as making them add a picture). That would mitigate the problem of non-really-members.

Thomas Paine "That which we obtain to easily, we esteem too lightly"...or something like that.

40? Well now it must be 41 because I just joined today and my first article was published as well. I'm excited! So I'm thinking we'd better get going and invite some more people to join? Real people preferably. I have an amateurish question. How do you get those cool little "slug line" links to show up at the bottom of your reply box?

    Welcome to Biznik Judy.

You can get your little "slug line" on the "your account" tab of your profile by editing the Biznik Post Signature. It is one of the benefits of you being a "supporting member". Once you do, watch your goggle ratings soar.
