Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion I'm on TV tonight

I'll be interviewed on the Seattle community channel (77) at 6:30 p.m. by a Naturopathic doctor on the subject of fertility and preconception care tonight.

For those experienced in such gigs, what kinds of things should be included, what to be avoided when discussing one's business?

I fear those deer-in-the-headlights moments.

    Hannah,

You should think of points that you want to get across. My last experience was delicate because I was doing a secular program on Trinity Broadcasting and they were supersensitive about promoting your business, That should should not be a problem for you.

Arrive early and talk with the interviewer. If he's good, he will ask you some advance questions to get a sense of how to drive the interview. And just let him drive. Lastly be aware of time. I can share my program with you (they gave me a DVD) and you can see how quickly I wrapped up my whole talk in 30 seconds.

    Hannah,

first of all, congratulations! Second, just remember to breath, and speak a bit slow. Keep it simple, as it is for a general audience.

I was on the radio a few times when I lived in Taiwan. Like David says, let the interviewer drive. The best way to promote yourself in this situation is to share your expertise and success stories.

    Have fun! Michael

thanks to both of you; I think it went well. The interviewer was great too. Likely I'll be going again to discuss other topics. And I got a DVD so all I need is a little homemade popcorn and I can kick back for a little self-critique.

Congrats Hannah! I don't have advice to give you as I've never been on TV (yet!) but I am pretty sure that your natural style will be more than enough to capture the audience and get your points across. When you do what you love, it shows! ;-)
