Infinite Life by Robert ThurmondThis is one of the most insightful Dharma books I have ever read. Thurmonds radical thesis is that anyone seeking enlightenment is actually seeking to be totally engaged in the process of securing every beings happiness. THe major question this book raises is how will we support each other on such a radical path of inner peace and devotion to everyones' prosperity. Certainly a most powerful vision for the 21st century.
I would like to gather a Book Club in November to discuss this book re: how we move forward with engaged social action and continue a non-attachment spiritual growth practice. Please let me know if you are interested, 2 or 3 best day/times and a location (I'm partial to Third Place Books Ravenna) right now I would propose meeting twice a month for 90 min. 6:30-8PM Tue. or Thur. works for me. The Tuesdays and Thursdays near the end of November seem to work for me (except for Thanksgiving day) though whether I will make it to Third Place Books depends on me being able to get a ride up there.
