I am married to my computer support guy. That can be a good thing...or a bad thing. :)
Is Your Computer Support Guy Treating You Like A “Bad Date”?
Not returning your calls fast enough… Constantly missing deadlines… Not fixing things right the first time… Never following up on your requests?
Does your current Computer Support Vendor respond to emergencies in 1 hour or less?
Do they offer an on-going maintenance program to keep critical security settings and patches up-to-date?
Do they offer a monitoring system to watch over your network 24/7 for developing problems?
Do they explain what they are doing and answer your questions in terms that you can understand?
What is your biggest complaint about your current IT provider or department?

Hey, Susan. Same thing here.
Not to sing his praises, but Bob (the other half of Cat's Eye Design) is responsive and several of our clients depend on him to troubleshoot for them and keep their websites and blogs humming.
I have heard horror stories from clients whose previous designers/developers either jumped ship or failed to respond in a timely manner.
Best of luck in finding the support person who works for you.

It's interesting to me that the slower the economy gets the worse customer service gets. I actually picked up 4 new clients this year simply because I answered the phone and the other people didn't.
I hear complaints of people not returning calls, not replying to e-mails and even contact forms. I had one new customer share with me that one company she called said her 2 person company wasn't big enough for to work with their company, and another said she couldn't afford them.
Great customer service is simple and priceless. Anytime I hear of less than great service, I think two things - 1) it drives me bats because it hurts the industry as a whole, and 2) they don't deserve this customer.

If the IT guy wants to charge me like an attorney, I want it done right the first time. I know enough to be dangerous. Not enough to do it myself, but I do know when I'm getting snowed with a lot of IT BS.
This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
