Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion I've become a JOTT addict

Have you met JOTT, yet? I was surprised to find no Biz Talk on this great FREE beta web/cell/email tool.

Basically, (using my techo-dunce level of knowledge) this system turns a voice mail you leave into a transcribed message in your email. I'm an addict.

I've been using this about 3 months and LOVE IT! If you talk too fast, it's too noisy, etc. - there is a "listen" option where you can try and figure out what the hell you said, cause the software didn't quite figure out your mutterings. I have signed my assistant up, and can leave her on-the-fly requests as I'm driving, which she then has all the details about in her email.

No more note-taking while I'm driving. Reminders are a breeze. And, the transcriptions are a good chuckle sometimes.

This beta site was started by 4 guys here in Seattle late 2006.

Hope this is as great for you as I've found it!

I love Jott too. Here's the extra-cool-geeky thing I use it for. I have it send jotts to my Remember the Milk account's inbox (IMHO, after researching, the best free multi-function to-do list out there). So, something I want to remember to do; call jott; it's translated with 95% accuracy and waiting in my to-do list! Talk about cool! -Leif (I talk some more about it at my geek blog www.geekingoutloud.com)

I know, I just found Jott, too! It's awesome. I'm always thinking of stuff to do in the middle of driving. Now I just Jott myself and stop worrying that I'll forget it.

Leif, I'm a geek in a poor disguise. I'm like Lance Hunt, who only takes his glasses off to transform into Captain Amazing.

This is really helpful. I can use this all of the time. Crazy how easy it is to setup and connect to your entire address book. Thanks for the tip...

Jott turns your cell phone into a very powerful voice recorder. It transcribes your recordings into text and delivers them to your email. It has many more features too.

You can get it from Jott.com.

If you have an iPhone, there is an iPhone Application available too.

    Hope that helps.

Jott is no longer free, so if you want a similar just as good, but free service, I'd check out Reqall: http://www.reqall.com
