I dont think your missing anything... does the same thing for me and its annoying... so much so that I quit doing searches. Hopefully this can be fixed relatively soon.

member search and back button- what am i doing wrong?
Hi- When you are searching for members on biznik and you click on someone's profile, check it out and then want to go back to the place you were in the big list of everyone why does it instead send you back to the beginning? For example, I went to the member page and typed in excel because I need someone with some mad excel skills. I was perusing the listings of members with excel as part of their profile but when I clicked on one and then hit the back button on my internet explorer it took me all the way back to the main member search page. This is super annoying because then I had to type in excel again and scroll through all those I had already checked out.
Why doesnt it just take you back one screen- to where you were before you clicked into the individual profile? Or am I missing something and there is a special button?
Any ideas?
Thanks!

I think it's just "the nature of the beast".
Here's what I do: after the search, right-click on a member's name and left-click on "Open in New Tab" (IE7) or "Open in New Window" (IEn). After checking out the member, close the new tab or window and return to the original search. This way, you never "overwrite" your search.
Do the same thing when checking out events or posts or whatever.
Have no idea what you would do on a Mac.

OK we'll investigate and fix. This is a problem we thought we had fixed ages ago. It's working correctly on Mac in FireFox and Safari, so I'm guessing this problem is limited to Windows IE. Is that what you're all using for browsers? Any of you seeing this bad behavior on Windows FireFox?

Also using IE (I know...firefox is better but old habits die hard....)
This same thing happens in the Events catagory also... If Im on page two, click on an event, then click the back button it takes me back to page one instead of page two.
Im assuming this problem is related to the original post.

Hi- Thanks for all the responses.
Dan- would you mind posting to this thread once the problem is fixed? Then I will know when it is time to do searches again. Thanks!
