Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Need printing/printer help

Disclaimer: I dont do well with technical difficulties and get major frustrated from the get go.

I have several labels that were created for me and are in a pdf format. They are all created in the very same way with only the text changing from sheet to sheet... so by theory when printing they should all print the same.

They do not.

Most are ok but Im having difficulty with 3. It appears that too much ink is being put onto the paper making some of the text blurry or nonreadable. The ink bleeds into the white areas. I can tell when it comes out of the printer (inkjet) that on the colored area its very wet...more so than normal.

One label I was able to use a different print/paper setting and got it to work but Im still having trouble with one other. No matter what print/paper setting I do there still seems to be too much ink being released. I have done every paper/print combination there is to no avail.

Why is this happening? If you have 12 labels all created the very same way in the very same program shouldnt they all print the same? Why is ink being dumped on some yet on others it has a normal ink flow?

What am I overlooking? I know it must have something to do with my printer settings but what? I am at a loss at what to check next.

ps. I have already cleaned the printheads so that is not it. pss. ALL the labels print FINE on PLAIN paper. Its just when printing on a special waterproof paper that Im having trouble.

    Hi, Rebecca;

    wow, from your description it's hard to tell what the challenge is. We're fairly close to you - if you like, email me the file and I'll kick out a print and see if we're having the same trouble you're having (no charge, of course - it doesn't hurt to try different print mediums to help eliminate possible causes).

    Best regards,

    I played with it again last night to no avail. Funny thing....the three that are giving me trouble are all heavy in the red color scheme. No idea what that means if anything.

    I think at this point we are testing making the font bigger. If that doesnt work we will have to resort in removing the text from that particular area and put it elsewhere.

    Well, the offer stands if you want us to test it using commercial production equipment. If it's any consolation, digital reds give us trouble on occasion, too!
