What a neat idea! I look forward to listening and can't wait to see how this develops...
New Biznik Live Call-in Internet Radio Series
What is Biznik Live?
This month Biznik is experimenting with a weekly series of call-in Internet radio shows. I'll be hosting interviews with nationally recognized and highly relevant business authors. The series will focus on how us 'free agents' can survive and thrive during times of economic uncertainty.
Each show will run 30 minutes, and will follow this format: the first half will introduce the author and the book, with me asking them a few questions. The second 15 minutes are your turn to ask your own questions - you can call in OR text message your questions using the BlogTalkRadio platform (more below). You may also send in your questions via Google chat to biznikcatalyst@gmail.com.
How do I listen to Biznik Live?
You can listen live to each show, or to recordings of past shows, at the BlogTalkRadio BiznikLive page: http://www.BlogTalkRadio.com/BiznikLive
You can also subscribe for free in iTunes.
How do I ask questions of authors?
Questions will be taken from callers from 10:15-10:30. You can simply call 347-884-8009 or create a free account in advance with BlogTalkRadio to use their web-based audio application, which allows you to interact with the show via chat. You may also use Google’s chat client and ask questions to BiznikCatalyst@Gmail.com
Confirmed Guests & Dates
Shows will be every Wednesday at 10 am PST during the month of October.
Thanks to your feedback, we have requests out to a number of popular business authors, including Timothy Ferris, Guy Kiyosaki, and more.
Oct 8th: Michelle Goodman, Seattle author of "The Anti 9-5 Guide" and the just released "My So-called Freelance Life". Link to her show page.
Please feel free to suggest authors or ideas that would make this a valuable program for you. We look forward to hearing you on Biznik Live! Mark Your Calendar!

Sounds interesting; do we need to read the book first for the conversation to be relevant? Art T.

Hi Art, Great question. No, with this series we are focusing on the particular topic as stated ("Surviving & Thriving amidst Economic Uncertainty") and hoping to draw from each author's particular expertise as it relates to that topic.
Of course, when it comes time to as your questions, it would be great if you have experience with the author's writings so you can ask an even more relevant question that combines what you've heard in his/her book with this show's theme.
Thanks and hope to have you there! -Leif

Hi Terry, Yes it will. As you're the 2nd to ask, I guess I didn't make that clear enough above. :) Cheers, Leif

BTW, feel free to still suggest authors you'd like to hear. I asked LinkedIn community the top 3 biz authors for small business owners, and got this response.

Congrats on this, Leif. You will rock! I'll try to tune in! :0)
My suggestion (I've mentioned him many times in other threads)...the hilarious and oh-so-knowledgeable Dan Pink

Thanks Nancy -
Dan Pink gave a tentative yes already if we keep doing this for Q1 of 2009.
BTW, though we hope to have an ical reminder link on our site eventually, you can set yourself a reminder when you go to the specific show page. And, don't know if I'll 'rock' or not, but I'm committing to being real, enjoying the talk with Michelle, and trying my best to be a great host. Thanks for your faith and encouragement ;)

Well, we just finished the first show and overall it went great --I'd give it a B+/A- for a first show.
What about you, what did you think? (You can listen here, give us a few minutes to get into it though!)
We had 15 visible people in the chat room, which is quite high for a 1st show and represents a much larger live audience listening to the show. We had a few text questions from the crowd, but only 1..75 calls (1 call was just a phone listener, the other was on a bad connection, the third came through).
My main question: if you were listening live, was there a reason you did not call in? Shy? No questions? Tech confusion? Couldn't find the number? Though I know this often happens with call-in shows, I'd love to know to help increase calls next time.
I've gotten confirmation now of two very cool, or should I say 'hot, authors for future shows --but I'm going to wait to announce them.
Thanks! -Leif

Hey Leif, Sorry to miss this week's show with Daniel Pinkman.
Loved this book and think he's offering some important considerations, especially for those of us who have operated from our right brains forever.
I will catch the replay.
Keep up the good work. Gretchen
