Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Online Credit Card Processing Recommendation?

I am looking for a credit card processing service that can process card request online. I looked Propay and they have a $45 annual fee, 3.5% transition charge.

Is it a good service and deal? Anyone knows other service providers?

Thanks Jack

    Jack,

Quickbooks has an online system for $12.95 per month. No mention about transaction fees, but I suspect they are typical. No contract or cancellation fees. I have a manual system I use in my office but it is more expensive and requires an up front purchase of the equipment. I got that through COSTCO.

I've had clients use ProPay, but I can't really recommend it unless you see some feature they have that you really need.

I use the QuickBooks system. Discount fees are typically less than 2% but there is some variation there. I process everything to a virtual terminal; if you need a physical terminal or integration with a web store, QuickBooks has plans that work there.

I will send you a message with contact information for someone who sells for PayTech and can help you understand options and rates.

    Hi Bill and Justin,

Thank you for recommending Quickbooks. I currently do not have a lot of CC requests so I prefer sort of pay per use charge instead of monthly. But I will certain check it out.

    Best, Jack

Hi Jack, I know PayPal doesn't have that great of rates, but since we don't get a lot of CC payments, we do use them occasionally for payments. It's worth it to us not to be committed to some annual fee, etc., but also to have that option for clients.

And with the PayPal debit card, funds are immediately available.

I'm sure there are better systems, but that one works for us right now.

I use a company called Versatalis to process credit card transactions online. I got a good deal with them through an industry group that I belong to, so the rates you get might be different.

They were very helpful during the setup process. And their support has been excellent, whenever it's been needed.

    Jack,

I'm new to Biznik and just came across your post. I'm a local independent rep for PayJunction which offers online credit card processing with great rates and fantastic service. You can check us out at this website: sales.payjunction.com/vmartinez.

Our system is very flexible and will allow you to process cards online, wirelessly through a cell phone, or through a link on your website at no additional charge. If your still looking, I'd love to meet with you and run you a quick demo.

    Regards, Vince Martinez

Jack I happen to have a few good options for you regarding visa/mc service. Give me a call and we can talk about it. I am on vacation right now but I'll be back on the 10th. Thanks Art T.

    Thank you Vince and Art.

Basically I don't have a lot to process...maybe 10-30 times per year so I am not interested in the service where i will have to pay a monthly fee.

Hi Jack, I am an agent for First Data. If you have not already chosen a processor, some things to consider are your volume and the rate along with service. Typically if you are processing over a $1500 a month than you should be more concerned about the discount rates. Less then that, go for the lowest monthly fee and no minimum required to process..whether it is Propay or another company like PayPal. Over $1500 is when you want to shop around. I can go over fees to look for if you like. Paypal would probably be the best for you at 10-30 transactions a year if you are under $1500 a month. Costco is very expensive compared to us. Good luck. Let me know if I can help.

When I was looking, I found that the best option, if you wanted virtual terminal options, was to go through www.cartsforcoaches.com and use the company they were promoting. Still you do need to consider the cost (which I think was as low as $26/mo by the time all was said and done, provided you had no usage) against the benefit - in your case, paypal may still be your best bet if you don't need virtual terminal and other options.

Thank you Joyce. I agree that Paypal is so far the best option for me.

Shannon, great tips. My volume ls low..its more of an convenient feature for some clients. I will stick with Paypal now.
