Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Share Your 2 Best Tips for Leaping Into Passions REGARDLESS of the Economy!

What are your top TWO tips/suggestions for someone who wants to pursue their passions in a big way, but is feeling scared or discouraged, especially during the recession? I've already interviewed some of you for our Passioneers radio show, AND would love any/all input.

Please be brief and focused in responding. FYI that if selected for the blog & article, I'll need your contact info to give you credit.

Also, if you've made the BIG leap into your passions and are living large, I invite you to join our Biznik Passioneers Group, and to contact me to be interviewed for our blog, book, and radio show.

Thanks so much and happy Passioneering!

The first lesson is to be aware, without judgment, of the emotional dynamics that drive our behaviors. What stories about money and success do we cling to?
These stories, inherited from family and culture, no longer serve us (doubtful that they ever did!).
Some stories that my clients have shared include magical thinking, powerlessness, entitlement, seeing themselves as less or more than money, etc. etc.

The second lesson is to know that we can't succeed by ourselves. Find and listen to advisors, mentors, counselors and/or coaches who are willing and able to see our blind spots as well as our strengths. Much of your work with a good coach will not necessarily be ego-enhancing!

    1. have a support structure - friends, family, mentor, and coach.

    2. have clarity on where you are at and have a plan to guide you to where you want to go.

    1. Do what you do - in a way that no one else is - what is your niche? What makes you different than every other _______ out there? Figure that out and you have the first step!

    2. Don't quit your day job just yet. Whilst you are building your biz, make sure you have your financial needs taken care of. Don't assume that your savings are going to last long enough for your biz to take off - or that loan!

Yes, there will be a time when you need to take the leap of faith by quitting the day job - just saying don't do it right away!
