I am happy to announce that I got a group, Circle of Healing off the ground and running. I made use of all the available websites to me at the time in advertising (given a modest budget), including the free ones. It wouldn't have worked without professional looking paid websites, but using all the possilibities increased ranking in search engines. Flexibility in scheduling the time and day seemed to be a key. I also requested a high level of commitment and time involvement, which I feel self-selected members truly ready for positive change.

My business, Hop to Signaroo, was featured on KING 5 News recently, in conjunction with Thrive By Five Washington, a non-profit encouraging early learning.
The KING 5 coverage was wonderful and one of my (eight month old) babies signed "more" several times on camera as we were practicing a song about more milk, more crackers... So cute, right on cue and such a great endorsement of how American Sign Language for hearing babies can be an amazing means of communication long before babies have the ability to speak!

I'm excited to announce that a podcast interview I gave a few months ago was just broadcast today (8/10/09). It was the first time I used this medium and was a bit apprehensive at first to dive in. Jimmy Moore, host of the podcast with a catchy name, the Livin La Vida Low-Carb Show (http://www.thelivinlowcarbshow.com/shownotes/717/cyndy-kryder-health-from-a-medical-writers-perspective-episode-278/), made me feel at ease and I am thrilled with the final product. I would highly recommend this medium for anyone trying to promote themselves and their products.
If you get a chance, please have a listen as we discuss the profession of medical writing and the importance of being an educated health care consumer.

Two Words:
Reputation
Location -- Location -- Location!
OK 4 words, then
When we first opened our doors in January 2007, I knew that Trivonna had many satisfied customers throughout the area. When a moniker like Trivonna, those customers were bound to find her. Because of Trivonna's reputation, I didn't think location was all that important. But, through much prayer, God led us to our location on Lacey Blvd. The walk-in traffic has been fabulous! Sales to date: [Noreen said to "self-promote" -- that means brag a little!] 2.78 Million. Almost all of those sales were made by Trivonna! Check us out at www.cabinetsbyTrivonna.com.

The Bellevue Reporter wrote a nice article about how my PR and DIY publicity and training tools company helps others be more successful.
For a gal who is committed to helping others get seen, heard, and celebrated in their own backyards and beyond, it's fun to be in the spotlight for my own contributions.
I do follow my own advice!

It is exciting to see this post heat up again. I hope that this is a sign of economic recovery. Congratulations Nancy and Nancy on the media coverage. Thanks Cyndy for sharing about the podcast. I use it to motivate myself and I hope others will do the same. And Ross, what a phenomenal return for Trivonna.
cheers!

I had an ah shucks moment today when I saw this tweet on www.twitter.com/HealingToolKit @SternNursing: ALL THAT GLITTERS ON TWITTER: Ms. Noreen Wedman, MS , counselor and writer. Amazing woman.
I don't know about amazing, but I have been working really hard to get the word out on trauma & it's effects. It is really nice to get recognized and I only hope that it means that someone is actually reading them!

That's awesome, Noreen! Congrats!
My recent successes-- renewed energy and interest in my business. I was asked to speak at a fellow Biznik's monthly group. I've been asked to be an "expert" for an upcoming self-help and support website.
I'm so grateful for the ability to recognize all that is going well, and to be able to share it with my brothers and sisters in Biznik!
I hope more folks comment with their recent successes!

David Kuhns and I have been doing Video Role Play/Video Replay for about 3 months and the response has been wow! Both David and I have found work, and sharing my theater training (who would have thunk it) has opened opportunities as well as excited people about video for the web.
What I discovered is that this is the first time where my talent and training is leading to real work. In these hard times, this is just short of amazing.

It is really great to get this thread rolling again and seeing the successes of Rachel and David. DK and DK, the video role play idea is intriguing and I would love to hear more. Finding a niche helps a lot with attracting business. My profile just sat on the www.CounselingSeattle.com site until I added my niche specialty of working with individuals who had a verbally abusive parent or partner: www.ToolKitForHealing.com

I was very good at restructuring businesses that were not cutting it with corporate expectations. At a cost of hundreds if not thousands of careers, I shipped good American jobs over-seas cutting the fat out of underperforming businesses.
I'm now atoning for my sins and trying to use my business skills to help entrepreneurs and small businesses grow.

Video Role Play started almost a year ago. I was talking to several hundred members and after hearing them, I realized that a lot of them didn't know that their body language was revealing to me than what they were saying. In theater, your body is your instrument.
So I took one my training from theater and blended it with video. It uses an introductory exercise to break the ice. Then we select volunteers and set up a scenario, then add a volunteer to act as either an obstacle, a key, a support, sometimes mutual goals. Each scenario is videotaped. The Group then gives constructive criticism, then we watch part of the video.
The response has been incredible and follows my personal goals - everyone who attends walks out with something they use or apply tomorrow.
David Kuhns then goes into what you do once you have a video, where to place, how to place it and how to bring notice and viewers to your video.
David Kuhns and I have been encouraged to teach the whole course - for about 24 hours - and we are talking to community colleges Extension Program. I will be doing the Video Role Play this month (it's posted) and talking about video more indepth.
If Dave can make it, then we'll update the Event.

Maybe it was worth repeating twice. There is only a short window of time that you can edit a post. Cheers!

Personally, I love reading about everyone's successes. It's inspiring and invigorating. We've had so many lately, it's just amazing. A few: --Just back from NYC where we filmed two segments for Parents TV, one on greening baby showers and the other on eco-friendlier holiday ideas --This year is third year of Green Halloween which went national last year. This year was first in NYC. Amazing, fun events for kids. Participants loved it all. Appeared on local NY morning show to promote it. --Did second NPR interview for Tell Me More with Michel Martin --We have cover story in Mothering magazine for November, had another in Working Mother last month --Have now done two segments for AM Northwest in Portland --Did segment with Shaniqua Manning for NWCN --Blogs by the dozen have been writing about us and our ideas
That's tip of the iceberg. All I can say is we're having a ball!
Congrats to all of you.

Way to Go Lynn! I suspect that most people love ideas that are fun and help the environment! No wonder you are having fun! I just built a "bookstore." It is so much easier than the old days of building it brick by brick! Book Recommendations by MindBody Integrative Counseling http://bit.ly/mGA7D

I've just completed my second CNN Radio interview, and the host tells me he wants me back. That is a lot of listeners!
And, 85 people are attending tomorrow's Publici-Tea™ Express at Seattle Design Center.
That's my biggest "live" audience for my event to date, and I am excited about delivering value and impact for every guest.

It is so much more energizing to focus on providing great service than worrying about the bottom line, and far more rewarding!
