I think it would be great to meet at a small town Biznik Networking event. Join me next Thursday the 21st out in Duvall and we will share some ideas.

Do you operate your biz from a small town home office?
If so, would you like some tips and inspiration from others like you? What are the specific challenges of a small town SOHO biz owner and what are some of the solutions you have discovered? (i.e. business networking)
As a biz-type, we could use a support group now-and-then. What do you think?

I live in a small town - pop. 2000 - although I do business all over the region. Fortunately, for a web developer, this is not that isolating.
What I am finding out is that there are lots of business enterprises going on in homes all over the place around here from teeny-tiny to a few quite large.
The problem is finding them and connecting with them.
I have found joining the local chamber very helpful in meeting a lot of local business people. In our area, both Grants Pass and Medford (Oregon) have large and active chambers.
I think it is very important to not just join but to go the meetings and mixers and meet people face-to-face. Just joining and never going is probably a waste of coin.
I'd be real interested in hearing other ideas.
Susan
