Textpattern for Dummies? Help!

Anyone out there in Biznik-land who can guide a textpattern newbie thru some basic maneuvers? My designer - well, let's just say I have a great looking site that I can barely do anything with other than new blog posts. Now I want to add a new page and have no idea where to begin. I've trolled all thru the Textpattern main site, FAQ's, forum and some related sites, but the language is over my head. Any suggestions for books or websites or any other resource? Thanks in advance!
