Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Traveling outside of the U.S.? Where is your passport?

You've probably read reports about the delay in processing passports and the stories about travelers who had to change their travel plans when their passports didn't arrive in time.

If you are traveling to Canada, Mexico the Caribbean or Bermuda this summer, you MAY be able to take advantage of the following special procedure:

http://travel.state.gov/passport/get/status/status_2567.html

Basically, you will use your birth certificate and proof that you applied for a passport. Some countries may still require a passport for entry.

If you are going to any other foreign country, you will need to have a passport. Check www.travel.state.gov for additional information.
