Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Two comparable businesses on Biznik?

I'm needing assistance on how to list on one Biznik profile two comparable businesses that I own. And, I have two different logos, how can I list both?

Lara told me that there are members who are doing this successfully. I would love to know how to do this.

I appreciate your help.

    Hi Mary,
To quote from our Manifesto, Biznik is about people not professions.

As a member of Biznik, you are here representing yourself. That is why every profile has a photo and a real person connected to it.

Many of the people in this community have several skills, side businesses, and other interests.

Your profile is the place where Bizniks learn about who you are, what makes you tick, and how they can help you (and vice versa!). Putting another logo on your profile, creating a second profile, or other techniques I have seen people use on Biznik to represent each of their businesses, are all self-defeating because they dilute the person.

Take a quick gander at the link I provided to our Manifesto. I think it might help answer your question by reframing how you look at Biznik.

    Thanks for supporting Biznik!

    Hey Christian,

This is really great AND I'm still confused. I understand that I AM my business and MY business is ME.

I've been in business for 13 years and I'm just now adjusting to this new concept. So tell me, because I'm such a visual person, what does a profile look like under the guidelines of the manifesto?

    Thanks for the help!

You are a gold star member - you can put links to the websites for both of your ventures, and put multiple business types on your profile - no worries. Lots of people do more than one thing, but they are only one person, so one profile.

As far as two logos go - there is only one place to upload one file, which could contain multiple logos in that file, if you want both logos on your profile lay them up together and save them as a single file.

    I hope that helps

Thank you Renate, it is helpful. Maybe I'll switch the two logos out every once in a while. Keep things fresh. Yes, the Gold Star perk is multiple business types on the profile. The two entities are similar services so that should make things easy.

    Thank you for your response!

You might look at how I do it with two of my businesses: Chiropractic and Tai Chi. There isn't much of a distinction but you get the sense that both are introduced and links take you to the appropriate other sites.

    Hi Dennis,

Thank you for the response. I saw your profile and how you melded both of your businesses and yourself into the profile. Very nice. It helps me to see you and your businesses as one. I think this is a great sample of what Christian was explainig to me.

    I appreciate it!

Mary and I talked via email, but I also wanted to mention here in the forums that I think Emily Lauderback did a nice job delineating each of her businesses on her profile, and she did it in a way I had not seen before.

Yes Mary and I know I do break several of the rules often offered on keeping personal and professional images separate (even more so on my blog), but it is a balance that works for me and feels authentic.

You could try making a .jpg file with both of the logos split on either side...

OK gang, I've made some great progress on the profile. It feels really good, and the balance of professional and personal is there.

What do you think? Would you read my profile and send others to check it out?
