Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion Using Gmail more effectively

Hey 'Nikers!

I'm sure there are many of you out there who use gmail as their main email interface (if you don't, it's worth checking out. You can use your own domain's email like (charles at charlesredell dot com) as I do with the convienence of gmail).

If you do, I'd like to point you all to a great firefox extension which includes a lot of feature improvements that Google itself has never bothered to include (you need to be using Firefox to use this. Of course, you SHOULD be using Firefox anyway).

One of my favorites is the ability to include HTML in your email's signature. This allows you to customize your signature so it can include direct links to your email address, web site and yes, your Biznik profile using one of the nifty biznik badges!

If you decide to do this, check out the warning I posted at this forum, to save yourself an hour of the hair pulling out I just went through. Of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to hit me up. I'll help if I can.

Charlie

Thanks Charlie! I love Gmail. I have the regular version of Greasemonkey, but hadn't started playing around with the Gmail scripts. It's cool that they've combined them all in one extension.

Another bit of functionality for Gmail: If you're into GTD, there's a great article on how to organize Gmail around Getting Things Done: (http://spaceagewasteland.com/gtd%20with%20gmail.pdf) (links directly to PDF)

This has revolutionized the way I process and respond to email, and pretty much made my life a lot easier!

Awesome Sarah. Thanks for the link. I'll check it out. As far as Greasemonkey goes, I agree. I have tried a bunch of different ways to make my signature do what I want but those scripts are not always ready for us real-life end users.

    This extension is though.

anyone else have handy e-mail/web-use tips?

    c
