Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion What do you want to get out of BizJam?

Hey Folks,

Bizjam is fast approaching . . . and from what I've heard it's going to be a heck of an event (and I'm not just saying that because the session I'm running with Beth Yockey Jones and Brandi Pierce is going to be absolutely KILLER . . . people will cry . . . and learn how to make their websites a heck of a lot more effective.)

So I know why I'm going to Bizjam.

But why are you going?

What are you looking forward to the most?

And what's the ONE THING you could learn at Bizjam, either during t he "Social Media" day (I'm still not sure what that term is supposed to mean . . . somebody explain it to me) or during the "Business Essentials" day that will mean you've gotten tremendous value out of the event.

LoL Chris, you'll have to attend the social media day to figure out what it means.

If I was going to Bizjam, I would be going to meet people and socialize. I have never been one for sitting in the audience, more of a trade floor walker myself.

Otherwise I'm most interested in getting status updates from people I haven't touched base with for a while. I love hearing if people had made progress or not.

Hey Chris, we are looking forward to our first BizJam. For us it's a mix of learning and networking.

I've found from past conferences, even if I feel I know the subject, I'm still likely to pick up a gem or two in the presentations (or cry my eyes out in yours).

I do try to make a lot of Biznik events, but will especially enjoy meeting those faces I have conversed with online for the past few months.

We're also excited as we are sponsors and that decision came from the experiences we have had with Biznik, its members, and Dan and Lara

Look forward to meeting you and so many others!

I am excited about reconnecting with people, the spirit of networking, learning new things and of course THE PARTAY! There is one, isn't there? Oh wait, don't tell me no.

I think the "big PARTAY" is Thursday night, the "Evening Soiree", 7 pm to 2 am. No one will want to miss this one!

If Chris says there's a PARTAY on Tuesday, it must be true; your place Chris??

I had to miss Bizjam last year, I was too busy doing more important things (yes ...).

This year I hope to glean three or four new notions about social networking, in the realm of learning about new tools and notions of how to use them to Make Things Happen.

If I connect with a few new Biznik members and find some common themes amongst us, that would be swell. I'm curious to encounter the Pathable badge.

I"m not sure what my specific interest is. Learn some tools that will help me suffer less as a business owner - that would be great! heh. Not that I'm really suffering...I mean, things that make things easier, or something like that.

Meet new cool people. Have fun. Learn things. Be immersed in it all for TWO days! And oh yeah, did someone say P A R T Y ??

Barry - I also do not understand why you are passing this event up? What a fantastic way to learn, share, mill and eat.

It is what Biznik is all about, no?

    Did someone say, "Party"? Yes!

And not one party but TWO. (Thus the confusion, I believe.)

We would not be able to claim that BizJam Seattle is a busienss conference that doesn't suck if we did not include some parties.

The BizJam Seattle 08 Soirée wraps up the 2-day conference and falls on Thursday, July 10 at the Little Red Studio - an artist loft in South Lake Union. Admission is included in 2-day and Thursday-only passes. Additional passes may be purchased for $10 at the door on a space available basis. (So yes! You're welcome to bring a date.) Check out the BizJam Soiree details - here.

The BizJam Seattle 08 VIP Party which kicks off the 2-day event is on Tuesday, July 8 at Sole Repair - a swank private club on Capitol Hill. The VIP Party is open to workshop presenters, event sponsors, and Biznik's gold-star-toting Supporting Members. If you'd like to attend, RSVP here.
