Subscribe to Community-wide general discussion What's Your Theme Song?

We had some fun with this question on the LinkedIn forum, and I'm betting Biznik's can do a great job here. So, for you personally or your business (or both), what's your Theme Song....or, what would you like it to be? (See LinkedIn responses here)

Maybe the word "LinkdIn" is a big turn off for Bizniks? ;]

What would your theme song be Amy? [I don't want one for myself]

The Cape by Guy Clark, Susanna Clark Music

Recorded by Eric Bibb on Friends

Eight years old with a flour sack cape

    Tied all around his neck

He climbed up on the garage

    Figurin' what the heck

He screwed his courage up so tight

    The whole thing come unwound

He got a runnin' start and bless his heart

    He headed for the ground.

    Chorus

He's one of those who knows that life

Is just a leap of faith

Spread your arms and hold your breath

    Always trust your cape.

All grown up with a flour sack cape

    Tied all around his dream

He's full of piss and vinegar

    He's bustin' at the seams

He licked his finger and checked the wind

It's gonna be do or die

He wasn't scared of nothin' boys

He was pretty sure he could fly

    Chorus

Old and grey with a flour sack cape

    Tied all around his head

He's still jumpin' off the garage

And will be 'til he's dead

All these years the people said

    He's actin' like a kid

He did not know he could not fly

    So he did.

Depends on my mood. Sometimes it's Stronger by Kanye West. Sometimes it's I Can See Clearly Now (nice, Andrey!) Sometimes it's the Indiana Jones theme song. :)

I like to use "These Are Days" by 10,000 Maniacs:

These are days you'll remember Never before and never since, I promise, Will the whole world be warm as this And as you feel it, You'll know it's true That you are blessed and lucky It's true that you Are touched by something That will grow and bloom in you

I was thinking BUSINESS theme song when I came up with "Words."

Will have to think a little harder on the "personal" one. So many choices!

    • Killing For Jesus by the Dayglo Abortions
    • The Crowd by Operation Ivy
    • I don't wanna grow up by the Ramones
    • Lost in the Super Market by the Clash
    • Err that song by Notorious Big that has the lyrics "I'd rather go toe to toe with all of y'all, because running ain't in my protocol"

The 1978 disco hit "Got To Be Real" by Cheryl Lynn.

I won a "Best Butt" contest, dancing on a bar in my underwear, to the song while in college. It's followed me around the 30 years since. My friends say they will even play it at my memorial service when I am gone. Being "real" is a huge part of how I do business as well.

I'm with Debbie on "Unwritten"; it is a great song and found in just about every movie and commerical on television now.

Friend, Lover, Sister, Mother/Wife by Prince is another favorite of mine from his Emancipation album. This will be my wedding song if I every get married.

And, pretty much anything by Depeche Mode because they are so muscially and lyrically talented.

I can go on and on! Just love music and how can anyone pick just one.

My friends and I have discussed this same topic, only in regards to "if you were a baseball player, what song would play when you walked up to bat?!"

Mine would either be one of the many awesome Led Zeppelin songs OR Good Little Girls by Blue Country :-)

I have no theme song. It depends too much on my mood. If I did however it would be something like Rock Lobster B52's. Art T.

    Depending on mood:

Dirty Deed Done Dirt Cheap; Don't forget thinking about tommorrow; Big bottom girls make the rockin world go round; I'm just a girl

Of course, I don't know the proper title for any of the songs.
