Many of my perspective clients have business locales of their own, so I meet them where they work. If I am meeting with someone without an office of their own, I tend to go to a cafe or restaurant. In that case, I look for a quieter venue that is easy to find.
If the perspective client is someone I have worked with in the past or that I have a higher degree of trust in, I will meet them at my home or theirs.
Truth be told, I have more than one client that I've not met face-to-face because they found me through LinkedIn or Biznik. It's not at all unusual for me to meet with clients strictly on the phone.
