Finally getting around to this!!!

Hello- I joined Biznik two weeks ago and am finally getting around to introducing myself.

I am a builder on Vashon Island and am always on the look out to hook up with other small business owners and talk shop. Gets lonely out here on our Rock. Hope to get to the point where I will start coming to more Biznik events and forums.

Welcome! Vashon Island....hmmm off the coast of Seattle maybe ? I forget my geography. Now where is my map? What do you build? Mostly, I just wanted to say hello to a person who also got no replies after diving in to this new thing. I tutor children in San Diego so I doubt my clients will be building on Vashon Island anytime soon. I HAVE seen a lot of useful information on this website. Maybe the buisness networking will catch on eventually. Seems like more of a "pick up" place for cute young things...but energy is energy. All the best, Judy.

Thanks for the reply. Vashon is off Seattle but in the Puget Sound, a short ferry ride from the mainland. I liked your comment about the cute young things. I feel like the elder statesman on this site but I value the energy of people younger then me. My wife is a therapist and sees a few kids. Difficult, but rewarding.

Welcome to Biznik, Bob. I absolutely love Vashon. (My dad grew up on Maury Island.)

I'm on a "rock" a lot too, as I work from the home office frequently, which is on Anderson Island. The cool thing about this community is that, although we span lots of years age-wise, we share that commonality of being solopreneurs and the unique needs that come with that.

Hope you find this community as helpful as I have.

Hi Bob, I love Vashon Island. I just moved from West Seattle to Boston. I miss going over to the island on beautiful summer days.

Biznik is great. I like being able to hear from people from all over the country, build connections and then offer referrals.
