Subscribe to Introduce your bad indie self GARY HENNEKE - BEING A MALE NURSE AIN'T EASY!!

My name is GARY HENNEKE AND I AM PROUD THAT I AM A MALE NURSE!!

Being a male nurse is not an easy thing! I am constantly ridiculed for my chosen profession. At one time in my life, I thought I wanted to work in a large hospital environment. I am happy that I chose Home Health Care!!

I am publishing this in hopes that it will help people recognize the value of nurses whether male or female. Being a male nurse has not been an easy thing to accomplish. I have worked hard to earn respect in this profession. I am an excellent caregiver and being male does not matter!

Hi Gary I helped a friend go through chemo at Johns Hopkins and one of her nurses was a big teddy bear of a guy. He made her feel secure, not only because of his physical strength in being able to move her easily, but also he obviously had chosen that profession to follow his big heart.

Nurses in general deserve a huge amount of appreciation and respect. In contrast to the caring dedication of the Johns Hopkins oncology nurses, my friend's doctor (who was a woman) blew in briefly, occasionally, and didn't have the comforting presence that nurses can provide on a daily basis.

This forum is unmoderated, but please keep discussion courteous and not too far off topic.
