Hello from Tujunga

Hi all. I just wanted to write a quick note to say "hi" to all of the members in biznik and say I am happy to be a part of such a diverse group of souls.

It is hot here in Tujunga. If you aren't familiar with Tujunga, it is north of downtown Los Angeles and located right against the San Gabriel Mountains and the Angeles National Forest.

Hope to get a few welcome notes from some of you.

And I bet it is hot! Years ago we lived in Arcadia and know what that heat can do near those mountains.

Welcome to Biznik, MaryJane. I don't miss that kind of heat! On day, as I was walking across the parking lot of one of the World Vision buildings in Arcadia, the spiked heels of my dress shoes got stuck in the melted pavement. Eeew!

There are many designers and other creative professionals here and it's a great place to share iedas and resources.

Long time ago. It was 1990.

One thing, though. Those San Gabriel Mountains are breathtakingly beautiful. We spent about 4 years in CA. Lived in Cardiff, north San Diego County after that.

And yes, I love the mountains. I don't really love the hotter summers but the rest of the year is hard to beat. I fall back in love with it about October and my love affair lasts until July.

We live on an island in south Puget Sound (Washington state) but are in Seattle a lot because most of our clients are there.

I enjoyed my time in California (can't say that Bob did that much, though).

Oh, I love Whidbey. Don't live there but go to a writer's conference there every spring.

We actually live on a tiny island (Anderson Island), off Puget Sound, midway between Olympia (the state capital) and Tacoma. Only accessible by ferry.

You asked about blogs. I have my own blog (www.catseyemarketingblog.com) and like reading many, many others, including copyblogger, problogger and chris brogan.

My copywriting specialty is developing unique online identities for businesses, so I do a lot of websites.

And you are one of those talented people who can do both design and illustrating? That's very cool. We used to outsource our projects that needed illustrating, but we don't get too many of those anymore.
