Heya Alvalyn, welcome to the site. Always good to see a fresh face.
I am in Seattle, but in LA once every other month or so. Does that qualify as being out there?
I'm a graphic designer in Ventura County (that's about 40 mi NW of downtown Los Angeles). Is there anyone else located out here?
I've been established for about 15 years and am looking for new project opportunities and connections.

Believe it or not, there are 142 members within 50 miles of you, Alvaluyn. And there's another member, Heather Parlato, who was just asking about hosting some events down there in this thread. You two should talk! I'll send you an introduction...
Alvalyn - Just wanted to send a "welcome!" out to another graphic design professional - J.
Hi, Barry. Yes, Seattle is very much out there. I have family in Poulsbo and friends in Bellingham.
Hello, Jeff. I've read your blog!
How funny - it IS a small cyber world! - J
Welcome to Biznik, Avalyn! Glad you joined. I'm familiar with your neck of the woods. We lived in Arcadia (San Gabriel foothills) several years ago. Sounds like you have a good number of Biznikers down there.
Hey, Jeff. I'm just starting to check out members' blogs. (The last five posts from our blog are on my profile page.)
How do I get to your blog? Is it on your profile page?
Judy -
My two blogs and one blogfolio are easily accessed through the home page link in my profile. Thanks for asking. I'll have to check out your blog...
Hi, Judy. Nice to meet you. I'll check out your profile.
Hey, are you folk also using other networking sites? I'm on several, and the amount of time it seems to take to keep up with each one is increasing. What are you all experiencing?
Perhaps this is a topic for another BizTalk forum?
Actually, this question was posed not too long ago on the forum, not sure which thread. I am limiting the number of networking sites I participate in because of that reason. One could spend 24/7 just in online communities, so I know what you mean. It works for me to be involved in fewer and put more quality time into them.
Alvalyn- Welcome to Biznik. You surely will find it interesting. Regarding networking sites, getting involved with few and quality ones will be a better option in my opinion rather than being involved with too many-akin to juggling too many balls at a time! As far as iam concerned, Biznik is where i hang out most frequently...
Hello, Anita Thank you for your comments. I am focusing on the few sites that appear to be most responsive. This one certainly has proven to be the most friendly so far.
Welcome to Biznik Alvalyn.
Welcome to Biznik Alvalyn. Nice to have you on board. I checked your website and you work is very nice. I am also a graphic designer, I just started my own design business in West Los Angeles. If there is anything you need help with let me know. You mentioned that you want to make new connections, have you heard of the National Association of Women Business Owners? Is a great group of women business owners who meet once a month for breakfast. I am a member of the LA Chapter and I find it very nurturing and all the women are very supportive of each other. Here is their link for the LA Chapter. http://www.nawbola.org/ Welcome!
Hello, Arthur: It's nice to make your acquaintance.
Hi, Erika. I grew up in West LA. Went to Uni High. There is a NAWBO chapter that meets out here. I'll take a look. Thank you.
Welcome Alvalyn... RE: your question about using other networking sites, I have settled into biznik as my Primary site and try to direct people here if they want to network with me. If I post on other sites, I also point them back to biznik. I think otherwise, I wouldn't have any time to do my regular work. ...Howard
