My $24 a month supporting membership is more than paid for by the business that comes through the Biznik site to my own website.

While Biznik membership hasn't directly produced much paying business for me from within the ranks, it has led to business being funneled to me through my profile on the Biznik site.

This effect is directly related to the strength of the Biznik site itself and to the level of membership you sign up for. I'm currently in the process of rebuilding my own site so that it ranks highly on its own, but, even when that's done, Biznik will kick it up a notch. Think of a paid membership as a multiplier on your website's search engine ranking.

Biznik has also had a significant impact on the way I do business. I've learned so much about marketing, including the development, care and feeding of websites, from Biznik members and educational events.

The key to getting the biggest effect from your membership is participation. Be sure to read the Manifesto. Upgrade your membership. Put up your photo. Fully develop your profile. Participate in discussion threads and start your own. Build your own Ormond Beach centered (Jacksonville to Orlando. ) group of indie business owners. Ask Dan and Lara for help getting it started.

Remember that Biznik is about networking, making friends and helping other members grow their own businesses. The benefits will flow to you to the extent that you actively participate.
