Hello Dennis and welcome to Biznik!
I wish that I was still in the market for a new/used house. =/
Good luck with your business!

It's a great day (though a gray day) here in the South Sound!
Hello, my fellow indies! I'm Dennis Schroader Jr; one of the owners of Real Estate USA - Tacoma North. This office has been open for business since June 27, 2006 and today we are celebrating the 1 year anniversary of our grand opening. Yes, we've made it! Now we're working on making it to year 2.
You may wonder what I mean by "non traditional brokerage". I'm glad I asked for you. ;) Most real estate brokerages make their money by charging their agents "splits": a percentage of their commission for the priveledge of doing business under their name. Usually this split starts at 50/50 until you make a quota and goes up to 70/30, 80/20, 90/10, etc. Then it starts all over again every January 1st. Not so at RE*USA!
While RE*USA offers the full services of the other guys, we do NOT take a split from our agents. Instead we charge a nominal monthly fee and a $489 transaction fee, AND we cap out at $7500 per year! Since our services are high and our costs are low, our agents are better able to focus on job #1: taking care of their clients. That combined with our AgentFirst(tm) Philosophy is why every agent should consider a strategic partership with Real Estate USA. In fact, if your real estate agent hasn't interviewed with us, ask him/her why not!
I don't want to bore you all with the minute details, but I'd be happy to answer any questions.

Welcome Dennis.
It is interesting to see more non-traditional real estate services coming into existence that do not rely on the old 50/50 split. After watching Redfin, Trulia, Zillow, ActiveRain and a variety of other online models make some impacts in the industry, more professionals seem to be realizing that "the model is broken" and are trying better solutions.
Glad to see you made it through the first year, hopefully it will be a good 2008! (laughingly, I just wrote an article about 2008 Resolution in Real Estate)
Congratulations on the first year of success!
Welcome to Biznik, Dennis.
Ahhh it seems like it was just the other day...
