Hi Douglas,
Welcome to biznik! What a fun publication. My husband and I are "wine fanatics." Good luck with this venture!
This summer, WINO Magazine will be hitting the shelves. WINO is a magazine dedicated to the experience of Washington wine culture. More than merely reviewing wine, WINO will feature Washington appelations and wineries, provide information about wine trips and tours, and wine-related events.
The mission of WINO Magazine is to inform, educate and entertain about the Washington Wine Experience. To provide an expanding industry a fresh outlet to a burgeoning consumer base. To develop a fresh viewpoint of wine via content execution.
Hi Douglas,

Thanks! We're already having loads of fun. :)
Welcome to the grand ol Biznik.
You should also network within the Zino society, Columbia Tower Club wine group, and the Poco Room. (LoL, sorry- just wrote a story on social media in the wine industry and I grew up in Yakima.)
And there is a biznik heavy into wine- Seattle Swirl is the name of the company.... I attended an event she held and it was very nice. Maybe your magazine should do a profile on local wine entrepeneurs?
Check out meetup.com's wine meetups as well. My sommelier friend also runs Uncorked Seattle, his website is vinolover.com. He puts on a few events during the year. Last Sunday's Bottles and Bags had 300 guests and was packed.
Hi, Douglas, I'm looking forward to reading your reviews. We buy a lot of Washington Wine and I want to know what your staff thinks of our collection. Art T.
WINO Magazine hit the shelves on June 3. You can find it in many of your favorite coffee shops, bars, wine rooms and groceries all over downtown Seattle, Ballard, Queen Anne, Fremont, Wallingford, Capitol Hill, Madison Park, Belltown, and in a few places over in Kirkland and Bellevue. Can't find a copy? You can subscribe on our web site for just $3 a month, and we'll mail it to you. Cheers!
Very cool! Good luck. Us oenophiles wish you success.

Douglas - Welcome to biznik! Just sent your web link to a friend in Georgia - who recently discovered the joys of Washington wines. - J.
Welcome Douglas,
I've already seen your publication. A friend of mine is planning a bachlerette party and they want to do wine tasting at a winery and had picked up your publication to do the planning.
Kudos, wishing you all the best success.
Helen
Congrats on the launch Doug. I’m a tax accountant slash Quickbooks Proadvisor slash payroll slash bookkeeper guy in Seattle. It’s myself and four CPAs that work for me and we cover Seattle, Bellevue and Tacoma. If you ever have a tax, accounting, Quickbooks, payroll, business valuation or tax preparation question, drop me an email.

Lovely! I say, the more wine-related publications, the better. Especially for wonderful Washington wines!
Best of luck!

Welcome to Biznik Douglas! Can I ask you a question? Why is it that it always seems like people need to be listening to smooth jazz while they're are tasting wine? I like wine and I play rock music. There has to be a place thats hip to what I'm saying. Have you ever covered anything like this in your magazine?
-Rich
We haven't covered it, but I can tell you that it just ain't so. We like to go to the Tasting Room, and they're always playing some variety of cool stuff. I haven't yet heard smooth jazz at Black Bottle, Artemis or Poco, either. Don't get me wrong, I love old-school jazz, and if I could find a wine bar that played that, I'd never leave the place. But, I feel you on the smooth jazz. Maybe you just haven't found the right venue yet.
