Subscribe to Introduce your bad indie self My Rad Indie Self has a Question for YOU

Hi, my name is Susan Rich, a business writer based in Portland, OR.

Been on Biznik a few months now but just went to a great how-to-use Biznik event last night, so I figured I should step up and shout out.

I've been reading a great book, "You, Inc." and it asks some thought-provoking questions. As an indie, I had to think hard to get past my initial response and get to an answer that really works for my clients-to-be.

Since turnabout is fair play, I ask my clients these questions. It helps me write about their businesses more effectively.

Ask and answer: What do you DO? What is your specialty? What is the difference you, or what you are selling, make? Are you enviable? How can you make yourself enviable?

Let's chat -- Susan

Thanks for the questions, Susan, and welcome to biznik.

I saw the "business writer" and my ears perked up, because in addition to our solopreneurs' marketing e-publication, I write articles for the Business Report, here in King County.

    1. What do I DO? Take away the pain of not knowing how to market your business to cause an explosion in sales.

    2. My specialty? I help soloprenuers who provide vital services but don't know how to differentiate themselves from their competitiors in this crowded marketplace.

    3. Difference my service makes? The practical, customer-focused ideas and activities that give solopreneurs real way to find their target market and convert their interest into sales.

    4. Are you enviable? Yes. It is very different what we are offering. No reprinted articles, no more research that is easy to report, but much harder to interpret. Just practical, usable ideas and takeaways for the small business owner who is tired of pie-in-the-sky and wants something he/she can apply now to increase sales.

    Hi Susan.

What do I do? Help people develop mindful appreciation as the basis for consistent inspiration.

My specialty is being able to separate short-term problems from long-term possibilities and focus on what counts.

The difference I can make is to help people find an internal, coherent, lifelong sense of personal progress that does not need to rely on particular religious or philosophical theory but can fit with any that I've seen.

I'm enviable because I apply a simple but profound system that allows me to never need to argue with my clients yet always can provide a pinpoint sense of direction. A focus on simple, understandable attentional abilities allows us to begin wherever someone is at and create movement forward as well as centeredness.

    Are you enviable, Susan?

    Cheers.

What a great response -- the question, "am I enviable" is one of my favorites b/c of the connotation...is it "nice" to be enviable? I say it is, and yes, I am. Knowing who you are, how you can use your unique skills to help others use THEIR unique skills to succeed is enviable. Thanks for writing - Susan
