Hi everyone -

Just joined biznik. I'm a graphic designer in the Denver area who is trying to figure out a way to go out on her own as a full-time freelance designer. Any tips, suggestions, advice most welcome!

In the connected world we live in today, your services are available from my next door neighbor's kid, a professional design company in New York, or for cheap from a shop in Bangladesh.

So why does someone come to you for their design?

I say it is because they are engaged with your story. Something about you just "clicks" with them... they like you... they like your work... and they want your spirit applied to their idea or need.

A Biznik wrote a great article about telling your story, and I think this is a fantastic way to connect with people, as well as develop concepts and relationships with clients. Take a look at it... I think it might provide some insight into one valuable way to develop and grow your business.

Best of luck with your new business!
