The best way to learn is to jump right in and get involved. Read as much as you can on here, there's a lot of good info. When you feel comfortable, write an article or two of your own. I'm sure we can all learn from you. And if there are any events in your area, they're a great opportunity to put a more social aspect to all these social networks.

The key to social media is the social part... this is about being open and giving.
One way to do that is to talk about why you do what you do, the successes you have had, etc. In short, tell your story. This article on Biznik is a good primer on storytelling...
