NPR motivated me to take a look...
Hello all! I heard the news story about Biznik on NPR earlier this week and decided to check it out. My region of the South is poorly represented so far, but maybe that will change. I live and work in the Roanoke Valley and southwestern area of Virginia. I'm recently retired from a faculty position in science and environmental education at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. My work now is more focused on consulting about curriculum design and evaluation, and professional development for K-12 teachers, but I'm also doing more writing about science and the environment. Fell free to contact me and I'm looking forward to being a part of the Biznik community!

Welcome to Biznik, Michael. There are a few people here who come from education backgrounds (including me), who are now either consulting or have started completely new businesses. I look forward to hearing more from you, including what you need from the Biznik community.

And don't forget to send a thank-you note to someone today...it builds your business!

Hi Lisa and Michael, welcome. The thank-you thing is so true. In fact, a Biznik member from Portland, Jeff Fisher, recently wrote a great article on that very subject.

Welcome Michael and Lisa, so people do still listen to the radio after all. Art T.

I love NPR. I was interviewed in Perlington Mississippi with Burners Without Borders by them.
I love that word of mouth marketing has become so loud that people in VA can hear it. That's where my dad is... I wonder if he was listening.
I teach K-6th grade right now, in Korea.
Welcome Michael.
